Nope. If he didn't like or approve of the choice of manager he could have stayed where he was. He was clearly happy,successful ,and well paid there. He is also a highly regarded DoF and if he wanted to move he would have received other offers.

We’ve speaking with Brands for years, it’s been admitted he was first choice when Walsh got the job but knocked us back.

It’s safe to say he’ll have been heavily involved in the appointment of Silva.
