Yes. All businesses that balance their books are sensible ones. Football clubs are (as much as we fans may argue about their special status) a business.

For me that leaves the following positions to upgrade:

• Another GK who can at least threaten Pickford's place. Stek doesn't do this;
• A new starting CB *if* we don't buy Zouma;
• Buy Gomes and another box-to-box player CM to partner him, even if Gana doesn't leave;
• A RB and a RW;
• A quality CF who fits the 'profile' for Silva.

Can we get ourselves into this position by the end of the summer? Seems a big ask...

Jags will leave anyway. Baines? could get offered an extension, but if he left with Robinson coming back in to play second fiddle to Digne I wouldn't mind that.
