I don’t have a problem with people questioning people, it’s a persons right after all. I’m all for backing the guy , wanting the guy to do well is in our Interests after all, i don’t like the pure adulation he gets at the moment though, don’t think he deserves it and needs the time to build a side worthy of it.

I look around and see what other fans of teams say and their heads are not exactly falling off like some say at times either, they don’t seem bothered what we’re doing or see us as a threat which to be honest hasn’t changed in a long time.

The fella needs time and hopefully he delivers in the long run, let’s not have a dictatorship where no one can question anything.

His first window was great and he's earned the trust.

But he's not a God. And so far we're leaving it very late with a lot of work to do which ultimately will only eat into the season.

That's not a method I'd have associated with him and tbh I'm not exactly chuffed. Not that it matters what I think.

I just hope there isn’t anything going on above his head that’s scuppered his first window. Just seems odd we’ve heard all this about lined up targets ready for the window to open, with a policy of only spending money wisely that we can get returned in the future if need be - and all we’ve bought is a couple of old bangers and someone we had last season with the money we’ve recouped.i just hope Marcels not having second thoughts over us given the lack of movement so far.

A few points.

You have no proof that he isnt God.
This time last summer we had yet to make a single signing, so how you can say you dont associate that with him im not sure.

Chill, this isnt Marcels first rodeo.

I don't consider a little over 2 weeks as leaving it late. Another 10 days goes by with no news, then he's leaving it late.

Yeh, I phrased that badly. I meant he seems like a guy with a plan, but one of those plans isn't to have to revamp an entire system with 2.5 weeks to go.

Last year was a learning process for everyone. Silva needed to assess the squad and we were willing to wait on deals.

The second factor is fine. But the first factor isn't the case anymore. Silva and Brands knew the weaknesses and also know the strengths and one of those strengths was that we'd clocked on a pretty excellent way of playing at the end of last season. Now we need to change that. And that will take time.

I just can't help but think we've taken a step forward, only to take two back.

I'm not panicking. I think we'll get players in and have no doubt we need to shift players. But I'm not fully onboard with Brands is untouchable. His record is very good so far and I'm sure he has it under control, but it's a risk and not one I'm sure we needed to take. But maybe change will be a good thing.

It's leaving it late when you have to change a system. When you've not looked like you're going to change a system in any of our pre-season games so far.

Yeh, it's leaving it late. Because this season we have a real chance to push on and with the start we have we need to be raring to go.

I'm hopeful we will. But selling your best player - or more apt, the player that is most key to how we played at the back end of last season - isn't a great step, IMO. Throw in Zouma going to the wire/not coming (and I've said all along I'd be willing to wait on that deal, even though it now looks unlikely), and suddenly it's two big holes to fill.

I'm sure Brands and Silva wanted their targets in by now just like we all did, but it's not the end off the world if they come at the end of the window, we'll start the season stronger than we started last year's, I'll only worry when it's deadline day and we havnt signed anyone, im keeping the faith that Brands has got this sorted though
