What's happened?

Delph in (massive risk already underlined)
Gomes in
Kean in

RB/CB/RW/2nd FW required with 4 days to go before the window shuts.

I'm wondering why you think there's no scope to be critical of him???
I didn’t say there was no scope to be critical, I wanted your thoughts on Kean and the price we got him for?

For me this was worth the wait if not splashing cash on some has bin in January for the sake of it.

He's putting in work tbf but I'd say our new signings are more down to Uncle Uzi, his private yacht and an unending supply of beak and high class brass.

hopefully he stays with us for a very long time...

One of the board directors now, think that move was to try and involve him as much as possible and really make Everton “ his project” with the stadium happening and giving him that position he must look forward and see that he has a real chance to build something rest all of his own. We are sceptical as evertonians and with good reason but even without blue specs , having freedom to do what you want and also knowing a new stadium is on the way , in the biggest league in the world... it’s a massive opportunity for anyone really. Someone like brands that had free reign at PSV probably wouldn’t get the same at a Man U, city, Barca or whoever , he has money available , a fan base that are willing to give him time , and a club that have a massive tradition that needs to be resurrected. It’s a very good opportunity for anyone that believes in themselves and has the desire to build their own vision.

Why would we need Doucoure when we have Gblammo and Schneiderlin. We don't need 2 defensive midfielders starting every game it absolutely ruins our tempo.

Maybe Morgan is off ( hopefully) I’m not saying you’re complaining but when we sell our player first people say that we should have replacements in first , now we are bidding for a player first and people will say we don’t need him as we have enough and what happens if we can’t shift Morgan etc. if brands knows Morgan is going he may be trying to get the replacement in first , getting rid of Morgan first and then trying to complete such a complicated deal with only 4 days left could see us having to pay over brands price , not completing the deal and leaving us short or not completing the deal and having to panic buy someone else

I couldn't be critical of him because the build is not for next season alone it is for several years ahead. Get the team we need by getting the players we want over time rather than getting numbers in with players that will make do. The quality of player is improving and for a team without European footy getting Gomes, Delph and Kean is excellent. Brands will not sign crap that is a given and with 4 days to go there will be more incoming and outgoing to add to the build for the future seasons. Slowly slowly is much better than the panic buys of recent managers.

With the better quality player Brands is bringing in we should not see the scenario of being stuck with players sucking the Club dry in future.

Just imagine what he could do once he has shifted the rest of the overpaid crabs he inherited. He has already worked wonders in my opinion, would love to see what he does when his hands aren't as tied as they are now. If we sign a RB, CB and RW this window then the next few windows will be looking at maybe another striker, attacking mid (unless we sign Jesus) and a LB to compete with Digne.

This man needs a song :D

Because all you have banged on for a year about is his failure to address the striker situation....which he now has...so now you're moving the goalposts to extend your interminable anti-brands agenda to other positions...
Consistent and predictable at least Dave

Niasse, mirallas, Martina, McCarthy, Baines. All out of contract at the end of the season. Massive savings.

Bolasie, besic, Pennington, schneiderlen, Walcott the season after.

If he wants a song he will make us make one for him

Exactly. He'll be working with a clean slate after that. Even if he doesn't sign in a position we need this summer I trust he plays a good waiting game.

I get the feeling a lot of the delays are due to trying to haggle the best deal for the transfer, given how we’ve thrown so much money up the wall in transfer fees and wages in the past. Other clubs seem not to be too concerned with this, hence the reason some of the crazy transfers are going on atm.

Man U seem to be on the “throw money at it” stage, but they can afford to give £200k contracts to Rashford (Christ!) as they’re such a global behemoth. The suggestion has been since the Walsh/Koeman debacle, we need to be more financially savvy.

That’s the crux though, at what point do you sacrifice preparation time for the squad vs getting the best deal financially for your club?

Arguments for both sides really.

I imagine until the new stadium is built we’ll continue to look for good value. I could be completely wrong though and usmanov will be funding things.
