2020/21 Marcel Brands

I used my words careful. Richarlison is no striker, he is a forward who in emergency can play as one. Tosun is useless, as proven tonight that he can't even get into the 1st 11 when there is no strikers.
As for Zaha, he isnt the only forward we could go for so Brands is still incompetent

It is a question though of who is available, how much and do they want to come. Do not want another piece of rubbish the likes of which we have saddled our selves with in the last couple of years.

I agree but in world football, surely Brands can find one, even short term, especially with Moshiri deep pockets

Not a fan of the whole DoF thing.
But if it was a GCSE, hes just scraped in the barest of bare passes...probably helped by some very generous marking and with Teacher assessment ( he's a nice lad, never late and doesn't disrupt the board meeting...I mean class) counting a bit too.

In recent weeks it looks as if the transfer record of Marcel Brands has improved dramatically... it probably shows we should not rush to judgement.

Certainly Iwobi and Mina are now proving to be value for money and Gomes has again just started to look like the player we thought we bought.
Add those to Digne, Allan,Doucoure,Richarlison,Godfrey,Branthwaite .

I did not mention JR as that transfer is down to his personal relationship with CA.
Allan is probably similar.

Firstly talking of Moshi's deep pockets, not that deep I think. Already he has given the club a great deal of money and one has to think of FFP.

Secondly we have to get rid of one or two onour books to make room for a new signing.

Thirdly, short team ? are thinking of loaning the likes of King? Any short term would have to be a loan, now who is out there who can score goals and his club will let him go?

Not as easy as you think.

I wouldn't get too ahead of ourselves on this.

Iwobi has finally found a bit of form for the first time since he's been here, but still wouldn't be in anyone's first choice XI over JR or Richarlison.

Mina can still be dodgy, we've seen it this season a few times. I think he's number 4 out of the group we have in that position imo.

Gomes has put a decent cross in so now people are forgetting some of the terrible performances we saw from him this season and last.

People were slaughtering Allan and Doucoure when we were losing games in November. Personally, I like them both and they are in the successful Brands signings pile for me.

Successes: Digne, Richarlison, Allan, Doucoure, JR, Godfrey

Not Convinced: Gomes, Mina, Iwobi, G'Bamin, Bernard

I'm leaving Kean and Branthwaite out for now. If the loan didn't work out for Kean he would definitely be in the second group. I'm still not particularly happy with the fact that deal didn't work out even if we will get our money back and maybe a little profit as we are short up top and giving Tosun match time ffs. Branthwaite hasn't kicked a ball for us since last season and is still very early into his career.

His window last summer was miles ahead of the window he had the year before where every single player he signed failed to impress and helped get a manager sacked. Still not overly impressed with him and you can't doubt for a second that Richarlison, JR, and Allan were brought in because of the manager's relationship with the players.

We can play Iwobi JR and Richarlison in the same team, Iwobi and JR were ripping Wolves to bits in the first half, I like Iwobi he has some consistency issues like 99% of the team but he's becoming a handy player.

He's a decent squad option at the moment which is more than I thought of him last year.

Think you need to take your own advice here.

Mina and Iwobi have both done well this season but they've both still got a fair bit to do to prove themselves value for money in my book. Gomes has basically had 2 good 15 minute cameos in the last half dozen games, he started against lower league opposition last week and was absolutely diabolical.
