Curious who you have in your starting side that you would consider ... more so to see who you have left out.
Digne. Keane. Godfrey. Allan. Doucoure. James. DCL. Richy .. they are the only highly regarded assets at the moment. But that is 8 players. Still have Mina and England’s #1.

put a world class keeper, CM and RB in there and it looks good.. as an 11

next level is replacing Allan, Douc and DCL.

you’re not wrong. Maybe harsh in Doucoure but he is more an athlete than a footballer so fair play.

Looking at my next level cuts for a top top team.. you’re spot on

Did not need a ceiling
WE needed an oven ready PL proven midfielder with power and physicality to play alongside Allan

Those teams all have 25 senior players registered, as do others, and could put 7 senior players on the bench if they had 7 already out injured. This is basic maths Jimbo. Whether they currently have 7 senior players out now or not doesn't change the fact that if they did they wouldn't be forced to fill the bench out with kids like we are.

Of our 25 2 are out on loan (Tosun Kenny ) on loan and 7 injured (Mina Olsen ,Gbamin, Delph ,Coleman Doucoure James ) that leaves 16 senior players

Where is Calvert-Lewin?

For me the best version of this is we need 5 players, but that requires finding a way to play Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin at striker together. If Richarlison has to be a winger we need 6 and that still feels generous. I'd be taking Godfrey out for sure and I really don't know about Allan on the ball. I think we're farther away than people realize.

Controversial I know but if we play one up top Ricarlison is the better finisher
Ricarlison is a far better natural finisher from .outside the box .one on one ,inside the box and is decent in the air ,DCL is only better in the air
DCL offers things Ricarlison does not ,but given a choice of one up top I would go Ricarlison
2 up top DCL starts with Ricarlison
If you want to play two up top with a diamond with James at the point you need 3 really good MF behind him and 2 fast powerful attacking FB.s with plenty of rotation options or it all falls apart
Chasing a game or want to change it up then DCL comes on for a MF

I default to the stats on this one because honestly it is hard for me to in my mind remember which games Richarlison was a striker and which he wasn't and they have DCL as the better goal scorer over the last two years strictly when both are playing up top. Obviously that isn't everything but Dom adds a lot that aren't goals so for me you've got to go with him if it is one.

But they're both strikers which makes it hard. Richarlison playing wide needs to end soon.
