Sure, but there are bunch of goals this year that DCL scores that I'm not really sure Richarlison is scoring because they play in different ways. Richarlison is obviously more likely to make something out of nothing but in a proper creative team DCL gets into the areas and has the ability to score at a far higher rate. What DCL was doing the first few months before we decided creating chances didn't matter was at such an elite level that I don't really see Richarlison touching it and that isn't meant to be a slight on him at all.
A strong industrial magnet is just as effective
DCL has scored headers and tap in
Nothing from futher out than 9 yards
I cant remember the last time he scored one on one (maybe west ham in the cup )
If you are playing James you expect to be fed balls to give you one on one opportunities
Headers ,tap ins and a couple of one on ones

Granted if Carlo can find a system to play 2 strikers and James then great but it needs a rock solid MF and 2 flying FBs

Vardy has scored one goal from outside the box in two seasons. I'm really not to concerned about that. Yeah he could finish 1v1s better but I think on the whole DCL's finishing is fine and his ability to get on the end of things has in the last two years become elite.
His hold up play is also elite which we really need.
Vardys pace gets him a lot of one on ones which he invariably finishes

I really don't know that there is that much of a gap.
For me the DCL can't finish angle is overblown. He's missed a couple 1v1s of late but he's finished everything in tight this year and that is still good finishing as not every striker does that. I think it is hard to make a case that he's not good enough for us to want to build the side around as anytime we've created chances even semi-regularly he's been in the goals. We get back to attacking again next time out and he'll be there again. But we seem unwilling and with James injured unable to do that.
If we play one up top it's Dom. I love Richy but he just can't do that role very well for me.
Who would you consider the better finisher ?
if we are to play attractive football in the style of Carlo then the big man up front becomes redundant
MY preference is 4-4-2 but that leaves you short of width or short in the middle if you play 2 wingers
Like all systems it comes down to the quality of the players
If you play one striker up top it does not boil down to who is the better finisher.
It does if you expect him to score from passes in behind and be the main man

When I told you that DCL scores at a higher rate you made it about finishing 1v1s. I agree to an extent if a striker is scoring then the flaws don't really matter that much but that is the case for DCL not Richarlison.
Josh King is a better finisher than Dom.
Would you rather him than DCL if starting one up top then?
