....have to think Moyes would be a terrific DoF.

What do these players have to do with David Moyes? They were all signed by Pellegrini.
I wasn't comparing West Ham and Everton. I was comparing Moyes ability to recruit and build a squad to Marcel Brands. He seems to be doing quite well in half the time that Brands has been here.
Of course Godfey counts as a signing from the Championship. When Norwich went down there defense was the main reason. Everyone was complaining why we'd take a defender from a relagated side. Honestly those have been our best buys. #grassisalwaysgreener. My concern is that Brands doesn't understand English football and the physical strengths required. He prefers technical players over players who are athletic and aggressive.
The fact he hasn't signed players from the championship once is something I find very strange. (Godfrey doesn't really count)
Moyes won't work under a DOF. He had to work with Woodward at Utd and that was a disaster. He has to have complete control. Is Moyes the man in charge? Don't they have the equivalent of a DoF? I mean since he arrived they've only signed Bowen, Soucek, Coufal, Benrahma & Lingard. No cock ups, yet, but a small sample size. Would judge West Ham's transfers over the 3 years as well if they also have a DoF.

5/5 signings is a far better record on signings than we've had under Brands currently. Every one of them walking into the starting line up and addressing a problem in the side. Might be something to be said for letting the manager control recruitment.
Do you think he has done a better job in 18 months than Brands in 36?
We already have a handful of Brands players we want rid of in Bernard, Iwobi, Delph, and Kean.
Is that down to Brands or Carlo though? If Moyes is in charge then his last 3 windows have been good (never denied he hasn't got an eye anyway) but I'd say our windows since Carlo came in have also been good.

Do you think Brands does as well with the last window without Carlo here?Depends which transfer you put down to which person. I put James and Allan to Carlo, the rest to Brands. Together they're a good team though for me and I'd like to see another Summer window with them together. We're still short in areas but I don't think we have as much money as everyone believes atm (not Esk levels just think stadium and COVID are hurting).

Do you think he would be able to bring in two players at the level of James and Allan if Carlo wasn't a factor?
I'm not so sure.
And Doucoure. The elephant in the room from last window most people don't want to acknowledge.*shrug* we'll never know; they are both crocks as well though as much as I love them. Like if Brands goes in the Summer I don't trust Carlo alone to do the business in the window; I don't genuinely think he knows that many players outside of the elite he's worked with.

Both signed off performances in the PL.Godfrey + Doucoure to both paragraphs.
