Weird how a multi-billionaire like Moshiri has backed him despite him not suffering any fools over the years.

Remember when he bulleted Martinez cos he was an utter fraud, good times.
But then good old Farhad has a wonderful track record for making good footballing decisions.

But, if it were that simple Usmanov could have had any firm of tax consultants do the same thing without giving away a chunk of his company.

Usmanov and Moshiri have been business partners for years. It is quite clear that Usmanov depends on Moshiri and trusts him .
It is also clear that somebody like Usmanov would not keen working with Moshiri unless he had good reason to do so.

Moshiri is obviously the brains in the operation and Usmanov has the contacts.
A bit simplistic but generally correct I think.
Apparently Moshiri is a gifted accountant. More importantly, he's one of those gifted accountents prepared to lower themselves into the murky depths of oligarch ownership of former state assets.

These are not savoury people we're in bed with.

I certainly would agree that in generally Premiership football clubs have attracted a type of owner that would not have been as acceptable or maybe welcome before the start of the Premiership era.

However, I don't believe we are better or worse than most other clubs, certainly no worse than the owners of the bigger more successful clubs.

This was always going to happen when you look at the money involved.
The capital gains are enormous and if an owner can make the club a success then not only will it be self funding but profitable as well.

This scenario was always going to attract people more interested in profit than anything else.

The powers that be opened that Pandoras box long before Moshiri arrived.

Very, very few Crystal clear Billionaires Dave, do you know any ?

I know mate. It is what it is now. My original pooint was to refute the belief Moshiri made his cash as an entrepreneur.

You would have to define entrepreneur for me in that regard Dave.

Not everybody makes their billions in the same way.
Someone who has an idea to turn goods or services (use value) - their own or others - into exchange value.

An accountant advises such people.

I'd like to know what you think Moshiri's big ideas have been.

lol

Hargreaves Lansdown, one of the UK's biggest financial services company's, employs hundreds of folk, and hold assets for millions.

Started in a bedroom, then a one room office in Bristol about 30 odd years ago, by two accountants.

They're parasitic, not wealth creators. They advise.

lol

You know that F1 driver, Lando Norris? His Dad, Adam Norris, made £120m after selling his HL shares when they floated.

Not wealth creators. No siree.
Well if he takes other people's ideas and develops them and invests cash in them to bring to market for profit he's an entrepreneur.

Moshiri took cash from a state steel company privatised by an oligarch through force and placed that money in accounts to secure it and make money off it. An accountant. His involvement at Everton has been to park more Usmanov cash - not profiting from it. How is he an entrepreneur? How is he remotely similar to your example?
