Oh no, how dare he find ways to trim the wage bill in the academy. What a useless get.
After flushing so much down the toilet on utter tripe it's the least he could do...however, it seems like he's off to a flyer on that and let go Baningime who looked well capable of getting a fee at least if his contract had been handled correctly.

I think though Dave the wish was just to get him off the books.

Yes because we've rejected so many bids for Beni Baningime over the last few years.

He's still dealing with the Walsh and Koeman disaster, and he has added a few bums in Delph and Iwobi, but the huge elephant in the room is that he is a Dof in name only - he's never been allowed to implement a strategy or plan, because Moshiri continually interferes with many of the footballing decisions that Brands should be making.

The managers he has worked with have also not been equipped to work with a Dof, and have signed they're own players (Silva did with Richy; Bisto tits did with Walcott and Toshun; Ancelotti did and he'd the most success with Allen and James) and it seems we are still doing the same tired ways of working, with Benitez taking on the likes of Townsend - of brands was in total control of transfers then I'm certain we wouldn't have taken ok many of the crap that we did.

Sadly, that's my biggest issue with Brands, and he should have stipulated that he had to be given total control of all footballing decisions (including choice of new manager) before signing the contract - he has sold out when signing the new contract by accepting the status quo, and is only here for the shill and long holidays that he seems to take.

Only times I saw him play he was impressive.

Dont play him he doesn't get a chance to put himself in the shop window.

If he goes on to do well for Hearts its another debit for Brands.

He played every week for the academy when fit, he had some loans, he had some exposure for the first team. No one bid for him except a Scottish team basically on a free.

Just because he impressed you doesn't mean actual footballing people wanted him - as they clearly didn't.

Correct.

However, what does that tell you about...

A/ his own judgement in coming here and accepting Moshiri's offer?
B/ his strenght of character in allowing that dominance from an owner to continue?

As for his attempt to clear up the Walsh mess (in reality the Koeman mess, because he bought the expensive rubbish), he went on to add the following...

Bernard - tripe
Mina - tripe
Gomes - tripe
Delph - tripe
Iwobi - tripe
Kean - tripe

I dont know what they did elsewhere and I dont care, but for Everton that's £120M - just in fees - wasted in three seasons.

From the man tasked with clearing the decks of rubbish he's been hopeless.

Couldn't agree more. Also needs to be stated that both of his loans were complete disasters. That won't have made him very attractive!

Mina isn't a bad signing. Kean was a highly rated punt that could still work out. The rest is embarrassing.

As I said, playing for Everton. I dont care if they were doing it elsewhere, Brands job is to sign players who can be a success here.

IMO, Mina is a no-paced donkey; Kean a major let down who cant shoot straight or find a strike partner with a pass.

Tripe.
