It’s very hard not to agree with this mate, year 4, we’ve disimproved via a lot of money as the crow flies we are getting worse. Can’t buy to improve us, can’t sell, no resale on his own signings. It’s really bad. Any honeymoon he had in terms of mitigation is gone. Deeper in the hole we go.

I suspect the goal is to get to BM with PL status in tact. We’re all just going to be managed. If this summer is anything to by, it’s about shepherding that process via your Andres Townsend and be lightening rod in a way, but the worm is turning, all the “Marcel” usernames on here are being abandoned, he can’t hide behind managers anymore, the honey moon period is over and his work is being more and more appraised. More and more supporters are picking up on the red flags, lack of effective use of resources, player selection, squad building and managing a budget. Before we look at selling players. If you were to score those competencies out of 10 for him they wouldn’t be high.

I dont know what they did elsewhere and I dont care, but for Everton that's £120M - just in fees - wasted in three seasons.

I take you're point about his character and agree he has signed some duds, but I can't agree on Mina, Bernard, Gomes and Kean.

Mina is a decent signing, Bernard was worth a punt for free (could have been brilliant, sadly wasn't), Gomes had been great for us prior to the son injury which has ruined him and Kean still has the potential to be a big player for us, with the right support and encouragement.

Marcel has sold out and is just taking the money now though, I agree with you on that.

He come in during a catastrophe - Everton, managed by Sam Allardyce with this team. Always needed time to clear out this mess. He had to remove a 1/4 of the squad - wait until contracts finished for the likes of Schneiderlin, Garbutt, Stekelenburg ,Sandro Ramirez, Yannick Bolasie, Cenk Tosun, Theo Walcott, Oumar Niasse, Cuco Martina, Muhamed Besic, Shani Tarashaj . This team was a starting 11 in the Prem a couple of months before Brands come in;

It's coming up to crunch time when we have to start seeing an improvement competitively on the pitch though, our league positions have gone backwards since he's come in - but let's not make out that Brands is the reason we've struggled. Walsh and Koeman crippled this club.

Most of FFP burden is from before Brands.

Dont agree mate what’s the metric for success and over what time line. I see zero incremental progression, if we were looking to build something, I can get behind that, Iwobi, Delph, Townsend, one strategy one year, a different one the next! We had one season with him, with no forward, than another without a centre midfield, we’re heading into a game in 7 days badly in need of full backs. We can’t sell players, we’re posting 100’s of millions in losses a year and wasting window after window. What’s improving, what impact has been made? Will it improve after this window? If not what the point.

I don’t understand the point in posting a team from four years ago, he was supposed to improve on that. Actually didn’t that team under Allardyce & Walsh finish higher than we did last season?
