I've always been supportive of Marcel Brands, but now I'm beginning to think that the next big money spend from Farhad Moshiri should be to pay him off after the club has terminated his contract. The problem is, Brands has appeared to have embedded himself into so many aspects of our Club; it may not be so easy to get shut of the guy.

I still defend much of Brands work, I'm really not satisfied with what he's done with the Kean deal however.

I think we'll basically breakeven in terms of transfer fees but we still hold the risk of something happening and have to wait two years to access that fee. I understand moving him on but it's a really disappointing way to do it.

brands most important battles are still to come. his confidence will have taken an enormous hit after the success of Benitez buys over the summer. He will now be fighting like a lion to persuade Moshiri to ignore Benitez list and bring in the players Marcel has so carefully scouted.
