Marcel Brands

My concern about Brands are why has he been brought in on a board level? Is this not a conflict of interest?

We are financially held back but links to Patterson, Jebbison and Diaz have Brands blueprint all over them just like Godfrey and Doucoure last season

Not a fan of Kean's loan, we should have sold him and not had any ifs or buts regarding his transfer.

Why we haven't sorted out our right back is a massive mistake which he has to address before this window closes.

With Bernard off, James rumoured to be off and additional cash from sell on clause from Vlasic, surely we can start some movement

Pretty much rescued the Mina deal, got Allan and Doucoure on cheaper deals than were initially quoted, got a virtual bargain in Digne
Rescued the Mina deal? We paid nearly £30 million for someone who had only been at Barcelona for 6 months, hardly played and we trebled their money because he scored a few headers in the world cup.

I like Mina but to say Brands 'rescued' that deal is preposterous. We paid miles above what his true market value was at the time.

It was on the brink of collapsing because of United coming in when it was pretty much in the bag

If United actually wanted Mina, they'd have signed him. My recollection from that time is that the United rumours were very much planted to drive the price up. The only other club I remember being in for him was Lyon because their President made snarky comments about us blowing them out of the water financially despite not being in the Champions League.

It gave the impression we were bidding against ourselves, and we somehow reached £30 million euros despite the fact he was nowhere near being first choice, had only been there for 6 months and was signed for less than 10 million.

It was a crazy fee to pay for him at the time, as much as I do like the player.
