Signed James only to desperately try and shift him the year after tying up our wage bill for a year. Signed Moise Kean who clearly never wanted to be here at all and has tied up over 20 million we could have spent on someone who actually made an impact. Deals like that are why we are having windows like this one.

Brands really should be identifying players beyond the average 18 month lifespan of a manager like branthwaite Godfrey and possibly Patterson

I would make it the clubs point to blank refuse selling any of our top players to them in future should they come calling.

I think you have provided your own answer. Players have to go first and European clubs are skint.
It’s a new dynamic for players and agents to come to terms with. There is in-fact a wage limit in football.
To be honest I don’t know what else we could do this summer. I think it is all that is possible.
