If he had anything about him, then he would have quit a couple of seasons ago.
Looks more like he was just happy to collect a massive wage and keep his trendy wardrobe up to date.
DOF was always a bad idea of a role at Everton. Was supposed to offer some kind of stability, but all I see is a history of chaos.

….I suspect he felt he could work with previous Managers even if they had the final say on transfers. He clearly neither likes or rates Benitez & couldn’t stand the thought of working with him.

it would suggest Benitez is not going anytime soon.

Exactly. Easy for him to moan about being sidelined now, but he was happy to sit on his arse and keep his mouth shut and take his wages up until now.

For the worst run of results in 22 years. Its not rocket science. Every other manager we sacked we sacked for far less
you're talking about the last two months right? Other than Brentford Wolves and Watford, those games went as you'd expect. So, down 5 points. but then we got a point against Conte's spurs and at OT, so as far as I'm concerned we weathered a really tough run of fixtures whilst playing unfit players in key positions, and are only 3 points down. Let's see if we've still got the worst run a month from now. If we are back on an even keel again, and heading for another finish like last year, will you agree that we were right to keep him?

When Benitez came in it was well documented that he wasn’t a fan of the dof model.

Benitez v brands seemed like two massive egos which was always going to end with one of them getting the sack.

If it all comes good in the next few years - and Benitez is still here and brands etc indeed was the problem then I’ll hold my hands up.

It does seem though that Benitez is being backed to the hilt by Moshiri and it feels to me like backing an ex Liverpool legend so strongly while we are careering towards relegation is the perfect hill for Moshiri to die on…

You don't really believe that do you? He has no bearing on the teams performances, we still have the negative, sorry I mean pragmatic, Benitez who's beginning to lose the dressing room with his negative tactics.

Brands hasn't been a success here but he's not the biggest problem at the moment.
The crowd will be buoyed by this Brands news, that will transfer onto the pitch. We are in need of a confidence boost most of all, and this is it.

Why wouldn’t you?

Put yourself in the same position? Multi million deal? And if you’re sacked you get a big payout.

Let alone dividends for being a director.

Dividends dont get paid to Directors, unless they are also a shareholder.

And I very much doubt Everton remember the last time they paid one anyrate.
