Marcel Brands

And all Brands had to do was sit Mosh Man down and say "Rondon, no tactical plan, completely lost the dressing room, Rondon, 1 win in god-knows-how-long, 1 goal in November, 2nd best on the pitch in every department, Rondon, no accountability, and worst run since Gary Linekar wasn't ashamed to say he played for us".

All a moot point now of course, Mosh has made his choice. Brands is out, Benny is backed, and this club remains a shambles from top to bottom with the Iranian Mr Bean driving the clown car.

Mosh man , mosh , benny , mr bean

The hell is this, a comic book?

But he did that in the summer mate.

I've kept saying it. Benitez had full, full remit over the recruitment. He made every decision. So Brands was redundant anyway (this isn't a defence of him btw).

Just because Benitez only had so much to spend doesn't change that fact. Like, if I only have a tenner, I still have the autonomy on how to spend that tenner.

Now, I'm not saying the money was spent badly (it was on Rondon - wages wise - like), just that Benitez was already given autonomy anyway.

Im glad tbh mate at least we know who's signing the players now. People are running around panicking when for all we know it could turn out to be a good move for the club.

End of the day this fella has walked oot the door the second the media/fans started criticising his dealings.

I respect the reason why he left but I also respect the owners reason for not trusting him anymore with the purse strings.

But there can be no excusing Benitez.

My worry is if this month goes badly - and nothing so far suggests it won't - then if Benitez is still here in January he's gonna sign a load of 'oven ready' 30-yr-olds like Townsend and Rondon in an attempt to preserve himself.

Look at those defenders. Apart from Mina they are pitiful at being aggrressive enough in challenging and to hold their shape.
Zonal marking? Kept playing Rondon just to prove a point even though everyone could see he was turd.

4-2-3-1 formation every game when it was apparent our midfield would get overrun every single game.

The reason the defence are crap is that they have no cover. Our central midfielders get battered every game. Why not go 3? To prove a point that the squad wasn’t good enough and it was all Brands fault.

Proof will be in the pudding. He hasn’t escaped Scott free. Moshiri will have laid down strict performance goals. IMO Moshiri will sack him within the next 12 months.

We had 6 weeks before Benitez came in to get Dumfries, it could’ve been done before the Euros, this lazy jug head couldn’t bother his arse to start work until the tournament had finished.
Well the deal was supposedly done with Dumfries before the Euros.

This is where the money issue comes in and Brands being useless with getting deals done quickly, I agree.

Not really.....the search now starts to find a new DOF again, hopefully a competent one....Benitez although he's been supported now could still face the axe after the next 4-5 games....
Benitez already had full control over the recruitment this past summer.

The departure of Brands is entirely as a consequence of his reaction on Wednesday. Its clear he was making the point that the manager and his staff really aren't capable.

He's effectively lost his job/resigned for saying what we all think.

The sensible next step would be to dispense with Benitez and the old boys network, bring in a manager with a fresh outlook and start again. The Board Room overhaul should be simultaneous.

Scary that Benitez has carte blanche control of Everton FC.
