Be clear as day now who's responsible for bringing in absolute cart horses. Benitez may regret getting rid of Brands, could use him to deflect some blame. Oh well, only serves to hasten his downfall in my opinion.Least he can't be blamed for any awful transfers going forwards.
Well we might actualy sign some fullbacks now.
Benitez was in charge from the summer so it's nothing newBe clear as day now who's responsible for bringing in absolute cart horses. Benitez may regret getting rid of Brands, could use him to deflect some blame. Oh well, only serves to hasten his downfall in my opinion.
I would say the top clubs leave it to the footballing men, people who know the game. PSG, City, RS even Arsenal have left it to Edu. Woodward at UTD, absolutely failed at his jobI still think it's fairly similar. Regardless, I think a lot of people have the idea that we're alone in having a meddling owner, which simply isn't the case.

Anyway, Brands thread. He's gone/going. Good stuff. Isn't going to solve anything on the pitch though is it.
Anyway, ITKThere's serious talk that he could be going.
And the Mosh man's reply was hiring you.All Benitez had to do was to sit Mosh Man down and say "see that £270 million you handed this dope to spend? How far has it got us?".
Fish in a barrel.
Well yes in theoryNot this season no....but its the first necessary step towards improving future seasons
Any similar chat about Rafael?Anyway, ITK
And all Brands had to do was sit Mosh Man down and say "Rondon, no tactical plan, completely lost the dressing room, Rondon, 1 win in god-knows-how-long, 1 goal in November, 2nd best on the pitch in every department, Rondon, no accountability, and worst run since Gary Linekar wasn't ashamed to say he played for us".All Benitez had to do was to sit Mosh Man down and say "see that £270 million you handed this dope to spend? Benitez had full automony over every signing this window and ultimately did choose not to sign a full-back. Now where Brands comes in is that clearly the targets he lined up weren't, in Benitez's mind, worth it.
Benitez wasn't convinced on Dumfries. We probably never had the money for it once Inter came in but Brands had worked on the deal (led to believe Dumfries had even agreed personal terms) - would have been a loan to buy.
Benitez didn't want to spend so much on Patterson (£10m+) - again, I can't blame him. Benitez didn't want anything but a loan for AMN.
