Marcel Brands

That’s just it though. We start picking up injuries, Benitez then looks at what he’s got and it’s obvious that Brands has shafted him.

He could change tactics - go ultra defensive and grind out draws, but instead he just ploughs on and in doing so helps to create the current situation and in doing so expose Brands as a total fraud.

Makes perfect sense
@davek WE'D PLAYED THREE GAMES!

No. Of course not. But I saw the logic by committing more to attack and try and get a ghoal to change the tone / atmosphere of the night.
There’s no logic in doing that against a team that goes through the middle of the park for fun, no logic whatsoever. Especially when one has just returned from an injury and isn’t match for, and the other has been struggling

Any other manager would have don’t that you would have crucified them for.

Double standards all over the gaff

Entirely possible that she COULD do her job, within the parameters outlined to her. She was clearly very involved with the stadium, for example.

By all appearances she had little to nothing to do with the footballing side, which Moshiri seems to want a disturbing amount of control over.
Rather than asking fans why they think Baxendale isn't up to the job, perhaps you can ask yourself what her demonstrable achievements, successes, and skills are? What unique ability does she bring to the table? What unqualified success has she overseen? What makes her indispensable to Everton?

I don't mean to pick simply on her - I ask myself the same questions of ALL of our board members. I draw a blank on pretty much all of them. On Moshiri, the only thing I can say is he brings money. Given that we had to wait the duration of Bill Kenwright's tenure as one of the most unsuccessful chairmen in the history of the club to find funds, I would say that this was a positive. Other than that, nada.

We can't simply continue to operate as a footballing charity. We need a clear out. If Moshiri fails to deliver that, he may find that he too is eventually swept from the club in the manner of somebody he will be very familiar with: The Shah of Iran.

With the Manager wanting full control? Its been his MO for ever. And its been his excuse for ever when things go wrong. If it works out, sound, but if Moshiri backs him in Jan its 100% on him now. He is buying the players, he is coaching them, he is doing the game management. No where to hide.
I doubt the cunning plan was to see us 16th in the league.

Yes, he is very political, but that scenario proposed by Mutzo and backed by you seems to be highly improbable.

Not sure about that. Chelsea's setup is fairly similar - they have Marina Granovskaia in an equivalent role, but Abramovich still gets involved in some transfers and picks their managers.

I think we operate a bit like Chelsea in a lot of ways, to be honest. They just have much better people.
No Browns, that’s not true. She’s a director and is Romans representative on the board. Yes she has responsibility for negotiating transfers, but she doesn’t have responsibilities for all footballing matters

Thing is Dave, I dread to think where we could be in January (I hope we aren't).

And in that case, if worst comes to worst and we're around the drop zone like we are now, then how is that money going to be spent in January - or whatever money there is?

It'll be Benitez using it totally for self-preservation.

Get rid now, get a manager who is actually good in (Favre would be my pick, give him an 18-month deal and then the promise of being our DoF in that kind of Rangnick role, let him set a style in place to take us into the new stadium), and give them whatever we have to spend.

It's not just Digne who isn't happy playing under Benitez. And not all of the players are s*******s for it either. One of the players only came in over the summer...
Is Rangnick on a temporary deal at OT or what?

Nick a goal and protect it.

We were outgunned anyway sitting back for 90 minutes.
