The more you think about the Mr Shouty v Brands encounter the more you can see what an utter kin rat Brands is.

Asking Mr Shouty if he thought it was more than the players who were to blame...he obvioulsy wanted to prompt the man into responding with "yes, Benitez" or indeed expand it out to the chairman and owner.

I wouldn't be surprised if that got him the sack.

It was always an odd setup with Moshiri, Kenwright, Brands and Benitez.

I think we all want progress Dave but we’re not seeing it atm, and I’ve got a horrible feeling things are going to get worse before they get better.
They will. But we have to have this showdown.

Let's use this season to recreate the club off the pitch. If we finish bottom 7/8 then it'd have been worth it.

The burden of proof is on Baxendale to prove she is worthy of the job - not on me or anybody else to answer your question. We look at the performance of the organisation that she is supposed to head to assess her progress. It has been disastrous. What else are we supposed to hold a CEO accountable for? Why you would want to protect any member of our over-paid board is beyond me. The biggest issue at Everton is a complete lack of accountability. NONE of them have proven to be of use to this club. We must endure the owner - but I see no reason why we need to endure anybody else in the absence of evidence that proves their value. At least Moshiri has been prepared to spend money.

Now, it may be that under Moshiri nobody can do a successful job as CEO. In that case, a person who believes they are being unfairly undermined would resign or bring a case for constructive dismissal. In the absence of such action, it must be assumed that Baxendale believes she can do her job. Consequently, people will make their judgements based on the performance of the organisation she heads. In her case, it's been disastrous.
Entirely possible that she COULD do her job, within the parameters outlined to her. She was clearly very involved with the stadium, for example.

By all appearances she had little to nothing to do with the footballing side, which Moshiri seems to want a disturbing amount of control over.

And his tactics? You know, the ones that anyone who’d watched more than 15mins of football in their life would know would *guarantee* a drubbing against Liverpool?
Yeah that one got me a while back. He’s got limited resources available and a tough run if games yet he refused to change his tactics, he failed to address the zonal marking issue.

Why? To expose Brands and the mess he’d created.

And just like that Bill Kenwright is back in the game, just in time for January.

Have to say, Brands overall has been poor, poor decisions, wasted money, couldn’t sell players, every year here we’ve been short in one line at least and it’s getting progressively worse, this season being illustrative.

The job was to big for him in my opinion.

Mad to think how many idolised him, weird.

You cant be serious about that proposition suggested by @Mutzo Nutzo

!!!

With the Manager wanting full control? Its been his MO for ever. And its been his excuse for ever when things go wrong. If it works out, sound, but if Moshiri backs him in Jan its 100% on him now. He is buying the players, he is coaching them, he is doing the game management. No where to hide.

We were comfortable top half before DCL disappeared.
That’s just it though. We start picking up injuries, Benitez then looks at what he’s got and it’s obvious that Brands has shafted him.

He could change tactics - go ultra defensive and grind out draws, but instead he just ploughs on and in doing so helps to create the current situation and in doing so expose Brands as a total fraud.

Makes perfect sense

Everton FC the only club that employs a DoF who can’t appoint managers or oversee transfers
Not sure about that. Chelsea's setup is fairly similar - they have Marina Granovskaia in an equivalent role, but Abramovich still gets involved in some transfers and picks their managers.

I think we operate a bit like Chelsea in a lot of ways, to be honest. They just have much better people.
