I agree, Gray has been a good addition (though is one of the players unhappy btw) and Townsend will work but is being overused because Benitez loves him - he's been crap lately because he's a very average player who shouldn't be playing every game at the expense of the system. When used correctly he is good though and on a free he was fine.

Gray unhappy? Where'd you get that scoop?

I suspect we will never know how could he could have been given free reign. Yes he made mistakes, yes it's questionable if he always knew what players we needed for this league but the constant interference meant he couldn't do his job.

…I think Moyes is a great example of a autonomous Manager. The number of times you’d be watching a vague midweek match on TV and cameras would show him in the stands watching. Amazing dedication backed up by an eye for a player. Millwall on a Monday night he spotted Cahill.

i don’t see many with that dedication & the game is much more global now, it’s difficult for a Manager to be a brilliant coach and excellent in the transfer market. I think that type will be few and far between. Ancelotti said he’d never heard of Doucoure.

Yeah he was old school.
But
Manager. And under him a few well trusted uknown scouts chosen by the manager to report to him.

Cant see it myself - I told you all months ago Benitez has been given 2-3 years to stabilise the club whilst BMD is being built and you all laughed and called me deluded...

In all honesty mate, the deluded one is really Moshiri, his running, interference and downright profligacy should be really ringing some massive alarm bells everywhere, singlehandedly he is taking this club into the doldrums and it will be a long hard haul back, if ever.

He needs to back off completely or he will kill us and maybe even bankrupt himself in the process, Uncle Ussy will not wanna be bailing him out.

But, and it is a big but, Benitez is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and his inadequacies are very very apparent and WILL take us down.
