Marcel Brands

I agree with him on Brands

But the focus should be on both after last night. A pretty clear agenda by Phil there.
And yet the owner was happy to promote brands to the board. Brands doesn't seem to do what a DoF is supposed to do. I think brands could be a capable DoF, but I also think moshiri and whatever manager is his flavour of the month dictates who we sign. If brands was able to do the job he's paid to do, we probably wouldn't be in this mess. That said, the end result is the same, and for that, brands has to go.

If brands goes what would then be the clubs strategy get another dof who isn't allowed to do his of have a manager pick who he wants then in 18 months when he's gone repeat the same process

I agree with this. Moshiri is the common denominator behind our failings. I just don't see the point in brands being here. It's not like we're undermining a strategy by removing him (or him leaving). It wouldn't make much difference.

The manager is held responsible and rightly so.

What about Brands?

His silence is deafening.

It's his failure not in whole but certainly in part.

He must own it.

And other managers don’t have very good friends in local media. Everyone knew that financial state, including the manager when he signed. Diversion tactics in full flow, and it’s working
Keep sticking to your agenda

You asked what had changed - The amount of money which was afforded to a manager to bring players in has changed, massively

Completely disagree. He has been consistently failing up to present day.

I will reiterate what I've said in another thread... Next year, we will be even more financially constrained by ffp as the impact of covid will be felt. We lose about 8 senior players who are out of contract. Richarlison will also leave in the summer. That leaves us with 16 first team players. we will be rebuilding on a budget.

We are in a mess and it is due to moshiri.

You say he's realised his mistakes. What has he done to make you think that? Every managerial appointment has been completely different in terms of style, phylosophy and personality. They were all made by moshiri, despite him saying that we needed a DoF to create a consistent culture at the club, regardless of who the manager is. He has interfered with transfers and they have all failed.
Amen to that. Moshiri describing how Tosun destroyed Monaco when he was at Besitkas should tell you all you need to know.

Brands at best plays two parts; the fall guy and clean up crew.

The Everton fans that believe that the current mess the club is in is due to an ex-Liverpool manager rather than a hopeless Director of Football employed and promoted by an equally useless Chairman
Nobody thinks that at all; people don’t rate him as a manager.

The point that you’ve missed is that what McNulty has printed shows the level of influence the manager has in the media. His own narrative will start getting bombarded around the fans will lap it up

Doesn't matter what his 'narrative' is - Fans can see the reasons why we are rotting as a club, we discuss and deconstruct those reasons everyday on here

He isn't going to get away with poor performances by feeding local journalists a line or two - His 'level of influence' won't matter a jot with the fanbase so I'm not sure why you're getting so aerated about it
