Marcelo Bielsa

Dyche Ferguson would have us down playing 4-4-2 hoofball, in reality we would witness much change than what we’ve been seeing lately just grim slow boring football.
Exactly, Lampard has tried to set us up as defensively as he could and we still looked extremely vulnerable whenever we committed more than 2-3 players forward at once.

Dyche is obviously better suited to building that sort of team as it's his whole M.O, but personally I just dont see these players being able to buy into it and play his football to a decent level.

It's the same thing people are saying about Bielsa, but you could say the exact same of any manager/style of play. Our squad is absolutely braindead. Imo our best bet is to get a manager in who will tell them exactly where they need to be/what they should be doing at all times.

I have an idea, why don’t we stop letting Farhad Moshiri choose managers?
I'd agree - but then we'd be letting Bill choose.

It's not as if they'll allow Thelwell to do his job, like. And having seen the job he has done to date, I'm not sure I'd blame them either...

so who then?

I would honestly rather either of those two choose than Moshiri.

tbh i think we’re gone anyway but

do you wanna go down getting beat 4-3 every game than stay up with a bore like dyche?
I'm not sure Dyche would keep us up mate. That's the problem.

It's a roll of the dice either way. If Dyche took us down the eternal question would be 'would a Bielsa style manager have kept us up?'

It works both ways mate. I'm putting my chips on gung ho.

Alright fair enough, wasn't being totally serious but no one likes a WUM so I apologise.

I will say that I do find it a bit odd how often Iwobi is the chosen target for a few posters on here.

He's not a worldbeater and we obviously massively overpayed but to me seems like one of the few in the squad who could probably contribute under a better manager.

Looked good start of the season and we all were singing his praises. His form has dropped off but even in the game the other day our best moments came from him being on the ball in the final third.

If we're talking about Bielsa I would say Iwobi is absolutely far and away the most suited to his style of play of any of our players, hence my original post.
IMO Iwobi has realistically had about 2 decent months in over 4 years as an Everton player.

It was a flash in the pan, he’s now back to his panicky, erratic self.

I’ll agree he possibly plays a slightly higher tempo than the majority of his teammates, Gray too.

Bielsa would be a good choice if we go down and he gets a say on transfers and a full pre season to get them up to speed.

Not sure he's the right man for now with our current squad but he may not be available after the end of this season if we dont get him now.

Perhaps Dyche ticks both boxes in that he may keep us up and he also has experience of the Championship

Dear lord Everton how has it come to this?!?!

It would be a complete culture change for the players, in a good way. just not sure it keeps us up. I will need to buy a big blue bucket to sit on and watch the circus and then when we go down turn it over collect all my tears in one place.

I do like el loco though. He gets the most out of his players or they sit. Bless him.
