This is the thing.
I hear what people are saying about the risk, about it being a long term appointment when we have short term needs, about the squad being unsuited to his style of play.
But what are the better options? Do we even have a better chance of staying up with Dyche or Ferguson? Personally I don't think so.
I get why people want Dyche.
There's probably a bit of hindsight when it comes to Allardyce and he seems similar.
English, defensive, plain talking, did well with a smaller club.
But look at what happened last season.
At one point he had 4 wins in 30.
He had a top keeper and two very good center backs.
He had McNeil on the wing.
His strikers were about as capable as Maupay and DCL.
Even if he tightens up our defense, we'd need vintage roy keane in the middle to play 442.
Moyes wont be sacked by west ham in time to take the job.
Rooney did really well at Derby but what was left of their squad was still actually quite good when he came in.
He hasn't done anything of note in MLS. Both Phil Neville and Adrian Heath are doing better.
Ferguson has had plenty of time to go and try his hand at management but for some reason hasn't.
Might well do a similar job to Unsworth.
Tuchel/poch/Sarri/Yer man from River/even AVB are not coming.
Tedesco has no PL experience which our board seem to insist on
Frank probably wouldn't leave Brentford
So, eh... Bielsa I suppose.
