The board making assurances and the board actually doing what they’ve assured people they’ll do are not the same thing. Ancelotti quite clearly did not sign up to manage Everton believing that we were going to be 2nd in the league at Christmas and give him josh king on loan to ensure we stayed there. Benitez did not come here believing that he was only going to get £1.7m to spend etc etc. I just find it properly mad that people seem to believe that after royally peeing off some of the biggest names in football over the last 6/7 years, the board are going to suddenly draw the line at upsetting bielsa.

That's possibly why he really isn't the best choice for a club that is run the way we are.

Yeah that’s exactly what I was saying. My concerns aren’t about his managerial ability, they’re about his suitability for the job. He seems to share those concerns, but I can fully imagine the board convincing him he’s wrong before proving him right very quickly.
 
Going for Bielsa is reckless at this stage and while he may think his financial investment is safe (I’m convinced he thinks we will come up first time…..he just sells when we are back in PL) Over the years we have become less and less of a relevance slipping down the ‘honours’ table but the one thing that barely any club can come remotely close to comparing with us on is the overall number of years in the top flight - this next appointment if Bielsa does come in is really risking that proud status which really would be a slap in the face

Bielsa must close to signing, thinking about that picture of him at the airport flying into London, in this day and age there is no need to physically travel anywhere just for “talks” we have high quality video technology, although Bill prefers fax,

Plus the guy behind him had 4 suit cases, that’s not a man just coming for a chat. He’s got all his trackies in there!
