Marcelo Bielsa

I don’t think he’s going with Bielsa to appease the fans.

I doubt anybody had him down as a serious candidate until it was obvious we were clearly considering it.

He’d have probably been the last name I’d have recommended to work with this group of players in the position we’re in, but it’s got potentially too much entertainment value (in a car crash that you can’t look away from kind of way) for me to not be on board.
Why do you think he's not appeasing the fans?
To me, he went with Allardyce and later went with Benitez, then felt the ire of the fans, then went with Lampard, who was a popular choice (sad it didn't work out), and now another name that many fans have been vocal about for a while (but who doesn't have all that impressive a CV - entertainment value aside).

Take your point about just lying back and feasting on an entertaining car crash while keeping numb to the pain, but I'd rather fight to the end, win ugly, and stay in the PL.

Oh, to bring Bielsa to Everton,
A decision that would be clever,
To turn our fortunes around,
And make us a force to be reckoned with in town.

No more of Dyche's dour style,
No more of the same old pile,
We'd have an exciting brand of football,
That would make fans from far and wide howl.

The press would be abuzz,
The players would be a-buzz,
As Bielsa's tactics and ideas,
Would give us top six dreams.

So let's not make a mistake,
Let's get Bielsa for Everton's sake,
And show the world what we can do,
By signing the man from Leeds United.

What time you in school tomorrow mate?

What time you in school tomorrow mate?
It's early in the morning,
The sun is just beginning to rise,
When Bielsa heads to Everton's School of Science,
To analyze and strategize.

He watches every move,
Studying each player's technique,
He'll take the time to understand,
Every intricate detail that they seek.

Analysing the opposition,
He looks for their strengths and flaws,
Working out how to beat them,
Using his tactical laws.

For Bielsa, football is a science,
Each game a new experiment,
And as the clock strikes eight am,
He's ready to make his descent.

This excellent documentary from 2012 (on the late Michael Robinson's Canal + show) paints a pretty good picture of Bielsa the human being. Clearly a man of great insight and integrity. My major concern would be that after spending just 5 minutes in the phoney Moshiri's company, he will see right through him and turn the job down.

A decent human being...not many left in the world today, and barely any in professional football. When you listen to his story, all of his decisions throughout his professional career make perfect sense. I can see why he could be attracted to everton...his simplicity is inspiring. Whilst he is one of the best manager in world football, he never and will never manage the big boys...and I can see why. Top man

Bring me Bielsa.

I think he could be the man to break our cycle of incompetence. A tough customer, a coach and someone that will not accept mediocrity from those above and below him.

It may be brazen, but if we keep doing the same thing, then we will continue to sleepwalk into oblivion.

Let's get it done!
Yup!
