Marcelo Bielsa

Absolutely mate. He transformed a team who were mid table and not going anywhere into a team that absolutely dominated the Championship. Liam Cooper for example was bang average, and probably league one level at best until Bielsa transformed him and most of the team into promotion contenders and eventual promotion winners. After that 9th place finish we needed to bring in some quality players to replace the Championship standard lads who'd worked wonders but weren't up to the premier league. That 2nd season injuries and lack of quality players brought in almost ruined us, although I still think Bielsa would have done enough to keep us up. It's a shame the board didn't back Bielsa the way they are backing Marsch. If he does join Everton and the players buy in to his methods, he'll keep you up.
Interesting analysis.

Leeds had a horrendous injury list last season it should be remembered. From September up until Bielsa left it was a massive strain on the team (this goes up to a month before he was sacked, but it didn't get that much better in February either).

Excellent point.

It should also be noted that Leeds finished above us on Bielsa’s watch while the great Ancelotti was managing us.

As other people have said, they've seen worse Everton sides go right to the final day and stay up, none of them were admitting defeat with 18 games to go.

This season there's 3 points between the bottom and 14th. As it stands all of those teams are in the mire - I gaurentee if we were sitting where Leicester are in 14th there'd still be people on here adamant that we're going down just like last season even though we'd all give anything for that now.

I believe a decent manager can get us 6 or 7 wins and a handful of draws from our remaining fixtures which should be enough to stay up and add a few half decent signings to that and it looks even better.

But i'm a realist also, were not in a good position, worse than last season so yes of course we can go down, very good chance of it but there's still a chance we can turn this around and stay up. Let's just wait and see. Some of us are so defeatist and that negativity spreads and seeps in. We need to be behind the team and new manager and have belief they can turn it around - not giving up and admitting defeat when there's 18 games and 54 points to play for! We're not down til we're down so until then let's just have a bit of belief. It's football anything can happen.
Bang on.

We need a bit of belief and we need the sort of support from the fans that won us so many games towards the end of last season.

I think my willingness to accept Bielsa comes from the fact I think we are gone already that someone as mad as him might just win a few games and we might somehow stay up, I don't know anymore this club is such a binfire

Ancelotti Jr. is palatable for me...after that it feels like a whole lot of dice-rolling. Oh, what a feeling.
Let me get this right. The guy who has NEVER been a manager at any level walking into this club that has a backwards chairman, a lunatic owner, and a fan base on the verge of throwing them both in the mersey. Is a better option and not a dice roll when compared to a manager that countless world class managers list as their inspiration or even a dyche who kept burnley in the prem on no transfer budget a year? Those are the dice rolls and Carlo's kid is the palatable thing? wow.

Contracts have been exchanged between Everton FC and young Englishman Marc Belser, an up-and-coming coach from National League outfit Dorking Wanderers.
