….but they were in free fall last season & he didn’t have the coaching capability to arrest the decline. A measure of a top coach is having the ability to accumulate points despite injury and suspension losses.

Everton will have injuries this season. Leeds performance at Goodison was lamentable, we scored 3 and should’ve had 6. They were dreadfully set-up.

I’m amazed why posters want him but not surprised the man who appointed Benitez is pushing for Bielsa.

I'd say posters would want him because the alternative is Dyche.

Make no mistake they are the 2 options.

Just like last season it was Lampard or Periera so its the lesser of 2 evils people are going for.

It doesn't matter what dream manager is on an Everton fans bucket list, there's only 2 choices as far as Evertons board and owner are concerned and that's Bielsa or Dyche.

I think certain reactions are absurd. Skepticism is healthy, and I have some objections myself, but going from Lampard to Bielsa is like winning the lottery.

We are replacing a Tory with a Socialist, which should suit the working class city of Liverpool.

We are replacing a manager who has limited experience and expertise with a manager who has a ton of experience and who is considered one of the most innovative and competent managers out there.

We are replacing a coach who didn't quite know what kind of principles he had with a coach who is willing to die for his principles.

What he did with Leeds was a fantastic achievement. He took over a mediocre team in the Championship, led them to the PL, and in his first year in the PL he led them to ninth place. And they did that by playing fantastic football!

If you seriously prefer David Ancelotti to Bielsa, well, you don't deserve better than what Everton are today. Moshiri is certainly a clown, but then you are definitely in Moshiri's circus.

I suppose Bielsa would have to commit to the possibility/probability of life in the Championship
but why not if he's getting paid millions per year?

Dyche is the common-sense choice so lets not do that and go for the Argie maverick. I suppose
its better than Fat Sam. Or Agent Rafael.

Can’t wait for it to backfire again and the fans get blamed for hiring the manager, like with Lampard over Vitor (except with Lampard you also had the Benitez acolytes feeling they got 1 up on their supposedly fellow fans). Despite the fact there is once again only a shortlist of 2 below par managers.

….get in the manager who’s Leeds team conceded 13 more goals than Everton last season. Get in the manager whose Leeds team scored fewer goals than Everton last season. Get in the Manager whose Leeds team finished below Everton last season. Get in the Manager who’s Leeds team were the worst we played on the run-in last season.

Leeds finished below us, get in the Manager they sacked. Only Norwich conceded more. He’s unemployed for a reason.

Let’s look at Managers of teams who’s performance is worst than Everton’s. Some fans giddy to get him because he’s a character.

You couldn’t write the script, he’s not what we

There was a report saying he wants the job but would prefer to start in summer, even if we're in the championship. I think the biggest issues for him are starting mid-season, the state of our squad, and the clowns on the board.

Should be easy to iron all that out in 48 hours

Absolutely, and the worrying thing he didn’t change anything when they were losing - hence why they lost 7-0 to City. Sometimes you need to shut up shop and take a 2/3-0 loss.

I'm still of the mind that this will end in disaster, but a few benefits that Bielsa would bring and Dyche would not:
  1. He's hugely respected and would attract players from around the world, even to the Championship if the worst happened.
  2. The standards he would set would give us a good platform for the future - even if he only stayed for 2/3 seasons.
  3. We'd have a manager with a philosophy and clear identity for the first time in ages.

Something along these lines.
