Marcelo Bielsa

I think he’ll at least give us a change upon arrival. The nightmare scenario is a new manager arrives and nothing happens. That’s unlikely with Bielsa, something will happen, and hopefully it’s a positive bounce. If it all goes sour in a few season’s time then hopefully we’re in a better position.

Marsch has a worse win percentage than Lampard.

Pretty massive difference between Marsch and Bielsa.

Have you seen the reaction from their fans to the idea of us getting Bielsa in while they have Marsch?

It's a lazy comparison but from what I can tell Jesse Marsch is genuinely a real life Ted Lasso.
I've seen it and I think they're wrong. I'd expect we'd also be fond of the guy who got us promoted after 20 years even if he clearly hit his ceiling in the top flight. And Marsch will be fine. I don't think he's a good manager. But he's fine.

Half of those games for Bielsa are in the championship though.

Marsch is a poor manager though.
That is true tbf I think his pl ratio is something more like 35%

To compare Marsch with him is ridiculous though, night and day imo.

Marsch is great entertainment value for everyone other than leeds fans. He's really been benching that Sinisterra that we should have bought so he can play Brendon Aaronson.

The 2 things I'd say for him.

1) The players have typically upped energy in the short term for a new manager. He could ride that wave a bit.

2) Lampard, for all his positives was out of his depth. So most managers will be quite a sizeable upgrade. A bit like Emery at Villa.

He has a chance to get off to a relative "flyer" in his first 5 or 6 games.

That's about as positive as I can be. Theres loads of risk.

It would be a wild throw at the stumps, but it would be the kind of football that Goodison would get behind.

Bielsa could be the kind of rare unit that thrives within our dysfunctional club.

It's a different approach, it would be complete roll of the dice, but we would have change.

And finally, the spineless lot amongst the playing group would be found out very quickly. Either conform, or you're out of the squad. Bielsa will keep finding youth to replace - no one would be safe. I suspect someone like Gordon, who at his best, was pressing and running hard, could really blossom under Bielsa (as would Iwobi).
