In the 433 system there in no number 10 really, will be interesting to see how Silva sets the team up.
England played the same system last night. With Henderson in the middle, loftus cheek to the right and Delph to the left.

If Carvalho is signed to play in the centre, do we need to sign a player to play the left hand side role. Sigurdsson could play either side, as he works really hard for team. Maybe Dowell long term could play that role, obviously he would have to improve his work rate and discipline.

I really hope he and Brands had a very clear idea of which players they want to shift before they were even announced in their new roles. Silva has been Moshiri's choice for the best part of eight months, and Brands was strongly linked three months ago. They have had plenty of time to prepare for the new season, so let's get on with it and drain the kin swamp and replace the trash with quality acquisitions.

If silva can make cleverley play like he did at Watford, then I’m confident he will make what we already have play a lot better.

A front 3 of Lookman, Walcott and Tosun is actually quite boss. Plenty of pace and quality there. We just need actual tactics to make it work. No lumping it forward and hoping for the best...koff allerdyce

In the midfield 3 we have Siggy, Gana and Klassen, (or Schneiderlin). With the young lads Davies, Dowell and Benni to come through and fight for places.

Add one or two big signings and were starting to look like a good team.

Im just looking forward to a manager who actually has ideas, Compared to the last 2 who were only here for the money (and feckin useless)

Except for Tosun (he;s slow)

For me I would much rather 2 DM's in a 4-3-3 when you consider Silva's defensive record in the PL.

Gana and Carvalho would be a good pairing as Gana would be the legs with Carvalho sheilding the back 4 but having the passing range to help out in attack like a Gareth Barry in his prime.

The DM situation depends entirely on how the rest of the team looks / will perform with Silva's pressing tactics.

Liverpool barely played a DM but had the 4th best defence in the league last season - only conceded two more than Spurs and one less than Dyche's Burnley - and that's down to how well they win the ball back in the opposition's half.

If we've got players who will press high and do it well, we can probably get away with just one midfielder acting as a shield. If we don't, we're going to more than likely need two without a major revamp of the back four behind them as you couldn't trust Keane to be solid enough without ample cover.

His is trying to change what has been a defensive team for the best part of the last 2 decades to an 4-3-3 formation.

Out of the front 6 he is already restricted with the lack of pace of siggurdson and gueye. He has lookman and walcott, tosun upfront. He needs a midfield engine, box to box player. A young yaya toure

The problem is the quality of the front 6 isn't good enough compared to the top 6 teams.
