Marco Silva- Former Everton Manager

Injuries crippled him. Sold Gueye and replaced him with Gomes Gbamin Delph and all three got crocked immediately for the whole season. Mina didn’t play often enough for him either, and Brands didn’t get him a CB when Zouma left.

Enter Keane Davies and Siggurdson to throw another Everton manager under the bus with their absolute crap week after week.
He didn't do himself any favors with his calamitous set piece defense methods, but I have to agree that very few managers could have lived up to expectations with the players that were at his disposal. The defense and midfield were built around Gueye in many ways, and after PSG heisted us for him he was provided with neither a like-for-like replacement nor the tools to build a functional midfield.

Rather like when we sold Lukaku and didn't buy any goals, really.

Have no bloody idea why we didn't go for Barrios (before he made his move to Zenit)...

Fulham look a decent team at the moment under him, scoring and defending in a proper way for a change.
They have the best squad by some distance in that league.

Saying that, I'm sure the time away from the game after a pretty traumatic end to his time in England has done him the world of good.

Maybe he's simplified his instructions.

Maybe he's less of an idealist.

Maybe it's just that Fulham are a REALLY good side in that league and any fool can do it.

Either way, one to watch. If he's still doing well in 2/3 years it could be worth revisiting.

Don't think there is any doubt they will get promotion although Fabio Carvalho the talented young forward they have has refused to sign a new contract (already been linked to Real Madrid) so it will be interesting to see how Silva does on his 4th go at the PL and IF he has actually learnt anything. I actually think in the correct setting there is a good coach in Silva.

Meh.

Look at Daniel Farke in the Championship vs Premier League.

Even Nuno Santo with Wolves - he just benefited from carrying that momentum with a lot of cash at Wolves.
Norwich are poor this season due to backroom changes and poor recruitment in that new signings hav'nt settled and players like Beundia have left huge holes in the team. Farke is also extremely stubborn with his tactics and is reluctant to change his attacking style to something a bit more better suited to a club like Norwich.

Well, he's been there since 2017 mate.

Promoted as league winners.
Relegated.
Promoted as league winners with club record 97 points.
... Then, 0 wins in 10 in the Prem. Will take them down again if allowed to remain.

He's just an example of how a manager with a decent team in the Championship can piss that league but have a nightmare in the Prem.

In fairness they sold their best and most influential player and replaced him with a few duds from Germany.

I like Silva though, this wasn't the right job for him here but wish him the best.
