Marco Silva- Former Everton Manager

I actually think he will go back to Portugal or Spain, and probably do a decent enough job. Less emphasis on set plays will help. His coaching was quite good, but in game management awful.

If he managed one of the better teams in Portugal, the way they set up would win them most of their games.
I heard he spends most of his time sunbathing, playing golf and drinking red wine.

We still haven’t got over it, and Mr Ed running on our ground at the end is something that still hurts.

Very true.

The Anfield fiasco was followed almost immediately by the rush of blood with Zouma versus Spurs and from that day on our hearts are in our mouth every time the ball goes anywhere near him.

And that’s just us, the fans.

Might do well there, championship probably his standard
That's presuming he can last more then a single season there. I think his longest record for any club he's ever managed was a second/third tier Portuguese side called Easoril where he lasted the grand total of three whole season's. After that we could be the longest he's ever lasted at any club, which tells its own story. The man is an utter mercenary.

I don't actually hate Silva. When I look at Koeman and Martinez I just can't put the bland forgettable no-mark in their company. He's going to be the name that everyone forgets years from now when people are asked to run down the list of our former managers!

Never really got the hate or disdain for him to be honest. He clearly wasn’t a top class manager and at times his tactics left a lot to be desired, but he seemed a decent bloke and at least you could see what he was trying to do. Responsible for about 90% of the decent footballing performances we’ve had over the last 4 years aswell. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

My theory on Silva was that he was an excellent coach but bad manager.

When plan A worked, we were very good. Whats lost on that Pickford derby, was he completely foxed Klopp, and a Liverpool team that wuld get 97 points and win the European cup. Mina misses a free header from 5 yards, Gomes misses one from 2 yards and Joe Gomez does an unbelievable clearance and Pickford makes an unbelievable mistake.

You could see the coaching on the training ground, the patterns etc and when it all went to plan, we were good. The issue was, actually managing the 90 minutes, I just never felt he could see anything. Managers would do different things and a best he would be reactive, at worst he just wouldn't react.

He's like 42 or something though isn't he? So he has plenty of time to learn, and probably develop some intuition around the match management.

He was unfortunate. I mean even the game before he's sacked, we go to Leicester, outplay them for an hour, make a cock up to give them a goal. Then in the 95th minute, the linesman sticks his flag up for offside, our defence stop as the flag has gone up and the guy sticks it in, and it then get overturned. The whole thing was ridiculous and thankfully that rule has been replaced.
