no mate, it doesn't mean we play like an Allardyce team for all 90 mins. but when your 2 nil up, then is the time to consolidate and make sure you bring all 3 points home

and that means soaking up pressure. Something we have a hard time doing even with every man back. We just haven't got the personnel at the back. Think Silva thinks the opposite with defending on the front foot which in turns relieves a lot of pressure and gives us a chance of another goal. We now have a choice of 3 new defenders who need to be brought up to scratch asap. I do not want Allardyce football here again and when Silva has his new players settled and up to speed then we can start judging him fairly. He may have a problem at right back though with Seamus all over the place and Kenny somewhat short of experience and guile.

As like last season if we allow crosses into the box we are in trouble and Seamus and Baines are not the best at stopping crosses

Doesn't shy away from the disappointment of it - especially at the back.

Gets it, this fella.

I didnt see it as not shutting up shop, more walking disaster of a defence finally giving up the goals they had been offering all game.

The personnel will change and it will get better back there.

After that I'd be worried about him if we make a habit of throwing away leads and not closing games out.

Whilst we still have that defence...nah. Bournemouth were always bound to get one at least.

I'd have been disappointed with him trying to shut up shop immediately after the second with Zouma to come on.

Too much time left for that to work.

Would have liked Digne to come on for Sigurdsson at two-nil, just shore us up out wide but I won't cry. Games gone now.

Real men cry after dropped points Connor.

I'm going out to drink 15 Estrella and cry myself into a stupor

We talk about game management but that game was impossible to manage. The circumstances kept changing. If we keep losing leads, fine. But let's not all panic just yet

We have shipped goals throughout pre-season with our porous defence, is it any wonder we continue to do so now the season has started with largely the same personnel. Silva can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

...I imagine what Silva means is that the players on the pitch didn’t have what it takes to see the match out. It was 10 v 10, everybody does their job and we win. That is the disappointment.
