I am suggesting Moyes was a much better Everton manager than Martínez. Are you saying he is not then?

You can say Kendall or even Alex Ferguson as aspiration (win the league or something), the reality is we can’t even beat the mighty Brighton & Hove Albion after spending £300m plus in 3 years. The first step to make progession is to be the best outside the top 6 again much like the Moyes’s era. Build a solid platform hoping to make break though in a few years time.

We were 4th 5th and 6th on different occasions in the Moyes era. Before Pochettino and Kane arrived at Spurs this top 6 wasn’t even a thing. Us West Ham and Southampton were getting in it and not that long ago United were finishing 7th, Liverpool 8th and Chelsea 10th.

I totally support the man in place. I hope he's here for the foreseeable future
I was responding to a poster who was sayin things were great under moyes and that's what we should aspire to now

Win the league with the current people in place? Look, of course I want Everton to win the league but I am being pragmatic here. If a team can’t consolidate as the 7th best team what makes you think the team will suddenly turn up and win the league off Citch and RS. This is purely fantasy football or FM scenario.

Look at spurs and Liverpool.
They have come from where we were.
Of course we shoud aspire to winning things.
And sacking another manager is not the way to go.

Oh I think the people calling for his head are absolute lunatics at this point. I’m just not convinced by him is all
I've had several problems with his approach in games and am not blind to Silva's performances. But it drives me crazy when several blindly look at points, nothing else, and declare us no better and dismiss this as merely a stylistic difference. It's a better team that is performing better. Its not even close.

They slip up for one season. Other than that this top 6 thing exist for how long? About a decade?

That’s why I said Silva has to consolidate as a top 7 team then we have a platform to build upon next season.

Ya. Let's aspire to be 7th.
Ffs. If you don't have ambition forget about it. If you have low targets then that's what you will achieve.
In the last 10 years the rs finished 8th twice, 7th twice and 6th twice.
They didn't see that as their place though did they.

Money + good management for them.

I think we lack both. Ok maybe not money now but we fail to spend it wisely in recent reasons. The signings from Brands and Silva are better quality though.

And I deem the boss should look for proven quality manager not taking gamble when given the choice.

Ambition is not purely empty words.

Tell me how can a team win the league? Do we have the wealth of City or the management of the RS (looks like they’ll win this season)? Doubt it. I think the best chance is to win a domestic cup.

You can’t assume every manager is Pochettino but not Martínez. Pochettino is about the 1 in 100 candidates.

Pochettino got Spurs into CL but he does not win a trophy for them yet right?

Very much this.

Its like assuming every player from a lesser league is going to be another Suarez.

For every 1 Suarez theres 100 Tosuns

Same as for 1 Poch theres 100 Martinez's/Silva's
