Stil a player.

Obv has an eye for a good un.

Pretty sure there was a sporting director at Spurs at that time but I could be wrong.

Just wouldn't strike me as a step in the right direction, mate. Because really at this stage the best direction is sticking with someone for longer than five months, I'd say.

That would be Frank arneson

That’s great and everything but weren’t we also ‘tired’ when we won 5-1.

Can’t have it both ways.

See my reply to Chris, Ij.

I'm not saying it's a reason for not playing well. It just compounds poor form.

It's happened with every team - as the tweet proves, or as games like Spurs v Wolves proved as well, so it's not an excuse. It's just another factor that has to be considered, especially given that whenever we rotate our back up players never seem to perform?

There’s nothing to twist mate, we’ve been utter garbage to watch for a bit now

Since the Newcastle game, yes, and discounting the Burnley game where we played well - although certain players, like Gomes, looked leggy - we have been poor.

Before that we were pretty good to watch for a fair chunk of time as well... and before that it was a bit of both.

Because we're an inconsistent side who have no right or actual quality to be better than the teams around us, who have invested as much - if not more - this season anyway.

Not saying there isn't loads of room for improvement, because there evidently is.

It’s not just since the Newcastle game though is it?

It’s not just a prolonged period. The Huddersfield game. The Southampton league cup game. And they are just the poorest ones.

We’ve not really played really well for 90 minutes all season. For me anyway.

I'm not even saying Silva isn't to blame. He's made mistakes - tactically in the last two games we've been poor, and same v Spurs. His subs of late have been awful as well. He seemed clueless/relying on put luck the other day which is a worry. Won't dispute that.

There's just other factors in play though and it can't all be on the manager. Because if we keep chopping and changing then it's pointless - we'll never get anywhere.

Not just leggy though, they’ve pinpointed him and swamp him.

And I’ll respectfully disagree with the bold. We have better quality than Newcastle Brighton Leicester Huddersfield Palace Watford and Cardiff. I’ll say it again, when his Plan A doesn’t work there is no Plan B, well apart from throwing on more attacking players.

He either learns and adapts or his career in England will have another massive Red Cross against him

So if we're giving him more time, what are the red lines?
Does he get his full contract, 3 windows, or if the poor form continues for the next few months, is that enough?

Yes but Ij we're talking months ago?

As I said, early season - inconsistent. After that Fulham win - and then the lg cup set-back which, weirdly enough, was when he used the squad and it turned out our back ups aren't good enough? - we went on a good run. Five wins in seven, was it? That's a good run whatever way you spin it.

Then, whatever way you spin it, a run of one win in eight is dreadful.

So you can say 'the Huddersfield and West Ham games', but every team has crap days. Even on good runs. West Ham won five out of seven in December but got beat by Burnley and Watford. They're inconsistent exactly like we are.

I can't really disagree on the 90 min thing, but what teams outside the top five have? United only just managed it the other day...

I'd say the closest we've come to a dominant 90 min performance would be Leicester (A), Cardiff... it's not good enough but you don't have to play at your best for 90 mins to win games or have a good performance, do you?
