Aye, it's nonsense, but people have short memories.

We were playing very well before that derby. We've been crap since with a few exceptions.

He got his tactics wrong today though and I'm worried it's becoming a trend. He isn't learning. Earlier in the season, he seemed to change when something wasn't working.

Never mind the tactics, my biggest concern today was we didn't turn up with the attitude of wanting to compete physically. They bullied us and out worked us. We didn't seem up for the fight. It was embarassing at times watching us lose tackles where our player was the favourite by 2 or 3 yards.

You can talk about tactics all you want, but if the players are not switched on mentally and willing to earn the right to play, then you can forget about it at this level.

It's unacceptable for any Everton team to be so glaringly outfought. That's on Silva's watch and he needs to sort it out. That's the most concerning game I've seen all season. By a distance.

It’s proper bizarre. I was watching the Frankfurt game before; you’d argue most of their side wouldn’t get into ours; but just watching both teams every pass and touch was confident and assured and quick. Granted the league is different but still - does every team in the world look better? Christ, even Harrogate looked better.

He did just that, surely?

At the start of the season, Schneiderlin, Tosun, Walcott, etc, were all first-team regulars, remember?
Those players are still here, as will most of the players on loan.

In the summer he will have the same problem as last summer in shifting all those players.

Cardiff and niasse for example, there looking likely to go down no chance they will pay 10m for him, even if they do stay up they have just bought a striker for 15m

Granted he's a bit of a bell but PED on Toffee TV made a decent suggestion, play Richarlison as a second striker behind DCL or Tosun and use him as a go behind. Was hoping by now we'd finally ditch the 2 in the middle as well as that has clearly stopped working

I agree to an extent but I’ve seen managers inherit worse. He’s got enough quality to be in the top 7 by now but we are flirting with 11-15th I personally believe. He also just spent around 90 million in his first window hasn’t he? I think he has had a good few quid to spend in his first window added to the Gomes loan. It’s him the manager who has to get this side playing, different approaches for different games are needed. He just isn’t good enough for this club. I said it in the summer Pellegrini or Mancini would have been better appointments, better success rate and would attract a better caliber of player.
Who says Mancini would come?
Think Silva was given more time then most as his style of attacking was something that hasn't been seen in decades, it's been mostly defensive.

The formation has been found out, couple this to the news that moshiri won't unlock the warchest for the first time since he has been here. Add to that players on massive wages that won't be shifted without taking a loss.

Brands should of just got rid of the players last summer for what he could get, and the press the reset button and start again, take a hit in 1 season instead of spreading it out over 4 or 5 transfer windows.
That’s probably because attacking football doesn’t get optimal results, unless you have better players than everyone else. Not to say you should be defensive, but you need balance, and the ability to shut up shop to secure points. Man Utd in their pomp were masters of doing this.

I remember West Bromwich under Mowbray played fantastic football, tried to take on everyone, and they got relegated as their players were not good enough,l. Even when they outplayed teams they would often lose by the odd goal.

He won’t drop the golden boy because he can’t play any other position. Regardless of how much it affects our performances.

I dont think he should be sacked, not yet anyway, I still feel he should get a "free season" and given a chance with a fresh start, with "better" players next season.

But its not great, any hope I had is now totally gone, doubt I would care if we punted him really.

Playing the kind of football that will only ever get you 8th. Not only do you need the players you need the style of play to be capable of finishing in the top 6. Club needs a root and branch change which is happening or is said to be happening as we speak. Six months is too early to say he's failed imo.

The way he setup the team is crazy. Gaps everywhere at the back. There is no way to go if we can’t keep clean sheets. And we don’t seem to play anything good attacking wise since the RS game.

I’d go 4-3-3. But for it to work he needs two pacey physical central midfielders and a striker.

He has had six months not six weeks. We can’t afford to keep giving crap managers time and money.

If you think 6 months is a long time, then i suggest you are the problem.

If we had klopp, you would have sacked him after the first season he had a fragle rock.

We've gone from an attacking unit that created loads of chances n looked like scoring all the time at the start of the season to Allardyce levels of shots on target, it's baffling, having no proper striker doesn't help but it's not the only reason. Once more a season of positivity and optimism, descends into abject misery as per Everton.
