Considering the form of the entire team has dropped and richarldson has been moved around each week , it's hardly a surprise.

Can't expect him to lock that left wing role down with players around him not performing and him getting shunted up front every other week.

It's like signing bale and sticking him at left back every other week because we don't have one then wondering why bales performance has dropped.

You make a good point. Still think we overpaid. I thought 40m plus players would be kinda marquee. He's young but both seasons so far in prem he's lost his form after so many games. I guess you need to spend 60 to 70m now for a consistently performing top player. Siggy has been poor as well if you look at his fee. Maybe I expect too much. You shouldn't spend these vast sums and be looking at bottom half by this stage. There's something not working and I don't think it's just the lack of striker. I was speaking to someone near the club a few weeks back and they told me our players have to be constantly motivated in order to get them operating at decent levels for 90 minutes. I took it with a grain of salt but there does seem to be a lack of drive. Hope I'm wrong like...

I think your points make a lot of sense. Transfer values can sometimes be dictated on circumstance, desperation and ego rather than logic. It's up to Silva to either drop Siggy or incorporate him successfully into his side. For the price paid a chairman will sack his manager if he can't get his value from such a huge fee. Where is Silva's plan B for him? Shouldn't he be trying things such as playing him deeper etc. He has to make him work. A club like Everton should not be spending close to 50m without the manager getting a decent tune out of him. If he can't then he needs to explain to Brands why he can't and plan to move him on.

No they weren't come on. Yes he should be doing better but outside of the big names in GK position I would argue we have got a keeper of our level.
It's not just Pickford but he isn't a calming influence, if anything he makes the defence more erratic it seems, but it's hard to name a name we could have who would be markedly better week in week out, without paying £70m and hoping they don't want European football.

The likes of Myhre and Wright may bahe been limited but they could be counted on to do the simple things like actually come for the ball and get shut when need be. I'm not making a case for them - they were same level as Pickford - but Pickford is way below even Howard.

Who is "most" of that list? Mhyre & Gerrard were two of the worst keeps I've ever seen play live. Pickford may make mistakes but he also makes the occasional good save - those two made even more mistakes and generally played like they were scared of the ball hitting them, nevermind making saves.

Myhre was a better GK than Pickford. He was half decent. Pickford is some way down the GKs I've seen at he club. The first, chronologically, for me was George Wood, and he was a better GK than Pickford too.

Silva is a good coach. I'm convinced of that. If he fails to prove that in the next 12 months then it's him who's to blame; but I think we were flying before Pickford's derby calamity, and he doesn't function as a pillar of security for us to play out from, as all good GKs do.

Nope. I'm consistent. He's talented but is making errors. However those errors have context to them. He needs time basically. This time next season we have to be top 7.
