Yeah I think we've always seen it that way as fans but it's been common in Europe for years and is becoming the norm here. Obviously it does make it quite difficult to know who's to blame from the outside, because we'll never know if - for example - Silva is sat there saying 'I told him it was a waste of time signing Richarlison and Bernard because they both play in the same position' or not.If Brands is setting the template for the playing style and all Silva does is coach the players and select the first 11 then surely Marco is not as much to blame as it seems. If that really is the system in place then it does not sound very appealing to managers, as they will be hamstrung before they even start.
