He is one of the rare people where they actually are judging him fairly though, on account of having seen how he will play. Aside from his first few weeks, when has he actually played well for us?

Hes been quite bad bar as you say a few months after he joined.

But I honestly cant help but feel that if MAYBE we had supported him he might have played better.

I agree with that idea, especially with the young players we have (especially Davies, but also Kenny and Holgate / DCL) but to my mind Schneiderlin is the exception - for what he cost he should be a lot better than he is.

I know these are highly paid people, but honestly getting screamed at by your own fans every week would play on even the richest and strongest people.

Which in turn makes you attempt less risky plays, with in turn turns you into more of a crab.

Im not blaming the fans for how he turned to crap, thats on him, but I honestly feel if we supported him instead of abusing him he might have been able to turn things around. I mean clearly hes very much done here, in every shape or form, I doubt even a derby winner could save him at this point.

Biggest game of the season today for both the club and Silva. The biggest problem I've had with Silva since his arrival at the club was his appalling decision to play a weakened side in the league cup which resulted in our elimination. Should he make a similar choice today and the final result be anything other then a resounding win then he will be personally responsible. He will completely lose any confidence I have in him. It's not difficult, we've got nothing to play for right now. We're not going down (so stop crying doom merchants) but we're not going upwards any time soon either. A cup run is the only thing that can save this season from being a total write off. The club, the manager and the players owe it to the fans too at least give the cup a real go and show it (and by extension the fans) some respect.
You've only got to look across the park to see the benefit of cup runs while the league form is only edging forward and the squad is being rebuilt. The fa cup is just 5 matches to get to the final and like today many of those games can be against inferior opposition. If you're playing in the 7th-12th/13th group in the league, unlikely to break the top 6, unlikely to get dragged into a relegation battle, why would you not want a cup run and the feel good that goes with it? Anything that compromises that from the manager has to be on him in the event of a loss.
