It must be close. One final push should do this.

...still no sign of Watford reporting Everton....
blahblah.gif

Soon as they leaked that story about reporting us - it was effectively a matter of how much more they wanted.

Nah mate, if they fed him what to say it would have been all about commitment to the project etc, this was a response which will 100% pour fuel on the fire again

I think anything Silva had said would have poured fuel on the fire - especially as English isn't his first language. Say he's not interested and Mosh might have doubled the offer. I think there's a confirmation bias around this kind of thing. People will always interpret it how they want. Until an approach or offer is accepted, I'm going to try to not look too far into it, even though it's certainly possible.

Eh, his English is of a very good level - first language or not.

Italian businessman in "plays hard-ball" shocker. :coffee:

Seen a bigger transcript of what he said to the journo's today, 100% he is gone mate

BTW, interesting that Silva stated 'no-one has approached me' - effectively torpedoing Watfords threats to report us with that line today.

"What I can tell you about this situation is I look at this situation like for some players when they play well, or somebody that the coach wants from another club," Silva told journalists today. "For me, now this is a case for the board and the owners to discuss the situation. For me it is a normal situation, I understand the question."

Asked if he wanted to talk to Everton but was being prevented from doing so, he responded: "I don't answer this question. I read many many things in the week. I need to talk with my owner, my board and my players as well. I do my job normally during the week.

"I don't want to talk about Everton. I am here to talk about the West Ham match. If you want to talk to me about Everton, it's not the club where I work."

BBC reported this as well

"I respect what Everton want, I respect how Watford answer. This is the only true way when you have this type of situation, the clubs need to talk. I can't control this situation."
