The thing is though, we understand that we're in the same position - just higher up the food chain.

I don't get why they are surprised by this. It's like us being totally baffled at Moyes going to United; we're not, we completely got it.

Higher up the 'food chain' maybe, but that doesn't mean there's any kind of guarantee or entitlement. Watford can still say 'no', and by the sounds of it, if they do that enough, Everton may give up and look elsewhere.

I don't think there's any argument over who the 'bigger club' is, but the fact that £10m was allegedly rejected suggests Watford aren't going to accept just any offer cap-in-hand.

Better option than fat Sam or dyche though

Truth is, it could easily go as bent with Silva as it could with either of those two. It's all a bit of a gamble.

Sam was the "safe" option to steady the ship.

Dyche was the uninspiring option to make us all groan.

Silva is the real unknown quantity in all of this for me, could be the next bright young thing, could be brown shoes part deux.

Unless he's a complete wham it sounds very much as though a deal is around the corner. I'm not 'underwhelmed' as i think he's not done too bad so far and he's young with a nicely turned ankle but I don't quite get the fuss. Loads of fellow drinkers think he's the new Potch, with no foundation for such thinking, just pure, desperate optimism. Bring him on.

Underwhelmed.
Think it was going to be the case no matter what tbh. Ancelloti, Tuchel, and Simeone was pure pipedream stuff given our reality.

I'm just glad they seem to be going in some sort of a direction rather than flapping their arms around aimlessly as they seemed to have done the past 3 weeks.

Whoever it is we have to support them.
