It needs experimentation until at least January. That defence cant be trusted, and I dont see what we have to lose by changing things around a bit.

I was thinking the same...but his general loss of form put me off suggesting it. At least as a sweeper absolute pace is not the first requirement. I think Jags might make a better fist of it, but preferably someone more mobile. Needs to be a tackler with awareness. Strangely enough,and completely out of left field, if he could be shackled to the sweeper area and not wander everywhere, Rooney could do it. Very deep for him, but Pickford would always have an easy ball to a creative Everton player.........

I think 3 at the back is the way to go for us, however we don't have the personnel to play it. Or qualifying that, we have 3 centre backs who would need to be the sweeper. Keane looks very uncomfortable playing as an outside player in a 3 to me. When Mori is back, the system could work with Keane in the middle and Holgate to the right.
 

According to the Sunday Times the club has great ambitions for him, they want to get into the CL as quickly as possible and think he can attract players of the calibre of Cavani.

TBH I'd worry about baines having to cover the whole left side in a back 3
