Not up their arse at all. Watford are my 2nd team (a distant 2nd, admittedly). I think it's proper snake behaviour from Silva, this, but that doesn't mean I don't want him as our manager. If we can get him, great, but in their position I'd be wanting a tiny bit more loyalty than just 12 games after signing a 2 year deal

TBH if I were in their position, I'd have simply refused to deal with us
It is a dog-eat-dog world.

Also, what about the loyalty their club shows to managers? Can’t have it both ways, can you?

The man wants to better himself. Let’s face it, what are Watford ever going to do? Their fans know their standing in the game. There are bigger clubs in the Championship than Watford.

Just hand Silva over, you jarg cockneys.

..I think much depends on what was agreed when he signed his deal. A 2 year contract is a bit strange to me, plus he has no control of transfers. I know you told the Watford fans that Koeman had no control but i’m not sure that was the case. I doubt any of us truly know the DoF/Manager process at Everton.

All we know is what we were told, Walsh has ultimate control and can overrule the boss

That's what has been made public, whether or not there's anything more complicated to it is merely us speculating

I didn't say "no control", I said he was involved from an opinion and requirement perspective, which is what we've been told

..I suspect that’s exactly what’s happened. Watford have chased us leaving Silva to try and progress the move himself. He’s probably trying to do this with dignity rather than leaking he wants out to the press. His position becomes untenable.

I think this is the same for everyone at Everton.

...apologies, yes you did. I’ve not seen those references that Walsh has the final say but I wouldn’t disagree. Anyway, fingers crossed we get our man.

It's a fair point to a degree, but we're going to get to a point where you can't poach managers mid-season or something like that and we introduce a transfer window if this is the kind of thing that's going to happen. If anyone can think of another example where a manager has walked out after this sort of length of time because a bigger club came calling, I'd be genuinely interested to know.

Again, I like Silva, think there's still an element of him being unproven, but think he's a logical target but I always thought Koeman was a bit of a mercenary and this would probably top that

I get the feeling that Davy Klaassen would not be an Everton player right now if Ronald Koeman had nothing to do with the transfers.

Quite correct......but do you have this mantra when it’s one of ours wanting to leave though?
