Marco Silva

Just wondering if any Everton fans can remember back to a certain Southampton away game on a Monday night in January 2013?

Awful game which finished 0-0. But what was definitely notable was throughout the game, the Southampton fans stood and chanted, “There’s only one Nigel Adkins”, after he was sacked and replaced with a manager who “had done nothing”... that man was Pocchetino. They took the gamble on the young foreign manager and it worked... big time. Pocchetino is now the biggest youn name in management.

So the fans writing off Silva, maybe a little too quick to judge. Just saying.

Whiffs a bit of Martinez doesn't he?

The way he bottled that game against us was right from the Bobby Playbook

I can’t place what it is I don’t like about him.

Oh yeah. It’s another manager over performing at smaller club and we’re hoping he can over perform here.

Hope he does well like but we’ve tried this a lot.

I think his success in Portugal and Greece is the differential but despite that it worries me as well.

To be honest though, I don't think we'd be able to attract a ready made manager, so getting one from a smaller team and hoping he does well is pretty much all we can do

It's worked for other clubs like, Mourinho from Porto to Chelsea, Ferguson from Saint Mirren to Aberdeen to Man United

Heck, it worked when we took Royle from Oldham, so it can be done

I'm just not sure if this guy is the one we should be doing it with. I'm worried about how easily Watford frittered away a lead to us, considering how positively awful we are. I'm just not convinced of him

That and it worries me that he's now bailed on Hull to go to Watford and is already looking at bolting on Watford after being there for just a few months. The next full time manager needs to be in it for the long term IMO, to bring some much needed stability. If he kicks us to the curb after 4-5 months because a bigger club comes in, then we're going to be back right where we started

I would imagine there would have been quite a few Spurs fans disappointed when he was appointed their manager.

I’m more worried about the Walker from Norwich’s. The Moyes from Preston. The Koeman from Saints. The Martinez from Wigan.

There are managers available now we could get who are from a bigger background. And yes I mean Tuchel. I really think he’s the only one I’d be half happy with and I still have reservations about him.

Im just fed up of our low ambition mate. And have been for a while.

One of the worst games of football imaginable.

They've put picked their man, now it's a matter of bullying Watford into handing him over.

I like it, ballsy move. Could easily have played it safe.

And he's called Marco Silva that helps.
