Ive done my dough already on this market.
Not touching it again.
In fact, I've 3 Everton bets open.
Us finishing in the top 6.
Dyche next manager.
And us winning the FA cup.

I should self exclude.

..I suspect the odds on all three are greater now than when you placed the bets. I rarely have footy bets. I got some very good information last weekend on a certain manager but I never posted it and never supported it with a bet. There’s just too many things that can go wrong in deals that require agreement with 3 parties.

Really hope I'm wrong, but I feel that this has all been something of a sham to 'get away' with announcing Unsworth as our next manager.

I think it's classic Everton smoke and mirrors to make it more palatable, that when things are so dire, we would risk appointing a manager with no experience. Start by going after managers that most of us don't want (Allardyce and Dyche), throw in a ludicrous shout with no hope of success (Simeone) and then go after an intriguing, seemingly exciting manager (Silva). But then be surprised by the negativity of our perceived failure, so throw out one more foreign shout (Rangick), before giving it to the number one all-along, cheap and cheerful choice David Unsworth. They have their bases covered there because we all like him, because he's "one of us", so will afford him slack that we wouldn't for other candidates. Plus, for the more cynical among us, it appears that we've 'tried everything' but are left with 'no choice', so we need to all get behind 'Unsy and the boys'. Including a no doubt phantom, £20m bid to make him the managerial equivalent of that bogus £60 m Koulibaly bid.

I read Unsworth's comments in his press conference yesterday, very much as 'I've got the job but can't say it yet' and that was before we got the more emphatic nos about Silva. Probably so this merry little ruse can play out.

Hope I'm totally wrong like, but this is Everton and as fans we've been treated like morons before.

I can't see him ditching them

It will ultimately hurt his reputation to walk out on a club so soon after joining for another team in the same league

He'll see out his Watford contract first, it's only running till the summer anyway

..I think it’s a two year contract. I also think if he left and made a success of Everton his reputation will only be enhanced.

I think that may well be the compromise.
We are surely running out of decent managers to choose from.
An outside bet now would be Fonseca. Their league shortly going into a winter break but have an outside chance of getting to the next CL stage

Instead of throwing any more money at Watford surely we’d be better throwing a fraction of th3 £20 mill we’ve offered at Silva himself instead.

He may be hesitant to walk but offer him just a small fraction of that £20 million in a signing on fee and I expect he’s out of there.

Morals go right out the window then.

That sounds completely legal and I don't forsee the FA having an issue with that at all.

Also, he'd be leaving Watford. Watford! That is hardly a black mark on anyone's CV. (No disrespect intended toward those of a Hornet loving disposition).
This whole thing is about money. We make an offer, it is accepted or not.

The football is good to watch but for every win we get versus someone like Arsenal, we'll lose to someone like Stoke, with a good hiding thrown in for good measure. We lost 6-0 at home and that seems to be glossed over (his hull side also took some almighty beatings I seem to recall). He seems to have no idea how to break down teams who come to sit deep and defend. He's got a lot to learn and may well learn it and end up being top class, but he definitely isn't there yet. If you're as loaded as it seems, you don't need to be gambling on someone like Silva and hoping he will get better. Him and a club like ours are about right for where he is now.

Hmmmm, that sounds eerily familiar.

Read this on the Watford forum.
Yes, it's looking more like then ever, I've spoken to a friend who is VERY ITK, and he's informed me that Silva is in the process of purchasing a house near Liverpool - at present he's still waiting for all this to go through which is why he's delaying his departure.
A guy on a multimillion pound contract cant afford a nice hotel for a few weeks lol
