My toes have curled on more than one occasion after another @davek missed deadline for Silva to leave. But it’s best to treat these things with the humour they deserve. These interactions are all fun and games at the end of the day!
In other news, now you can see why I said Silva isn’t the manager you need. He’s good, but in some aspects he’s still an apprentice at the nuances of the PL. In terms of defensive organisation, he has a lot to learn - hopefully aided in January with a couple of signings. But you have said all over this board that you need INSTANT defensive improvement - Silva won’t provide you with that.

Nah, I actually agree with you that, at this moment in time, Silva isn't the man we need, but it is a sad indictment on the world of Premier League football that he was quite prepared to walk away from your club if they'd let him talk to us, and, despite the success your owners have had by hiring and firing managers, it's also a reflection on how they've gone about doing their business. We've not come out of it smelling of roses either by the way.
Good luck with the rest of the season, I suspect you'll drift away some time after Christmas and finish lower to mid-table, but Silva will likely leave something behind that can be built on by whoever takes over in Summer 2018 ( assuming Silva leaves in the Summer ).
