Maybe I'm being a bad negative Nancy.

Never mate, it's not in your nature !

Nah, I understand where you're coming from, but, to use a cliche, the ship needs steadying and making good before she can go forward with full sail again ... or something.

To be honest, it's a mess and I don't know who, of the likely candidates, is best to take us forward. Given we're less than three months into the season, the list of candidates is pretty small, which ain't ideal, but we just have to run with it.

The new Martinez. Comes across as a decent manager and has his teams involved in thrilling games but still took his side down last season and seems to be very Martinez like with his sides throwing away games they should have won.

Chelsea away recently and today.

Not convinced by him yet. The potential is there but think it's too big a risk to go for him, but let's be honest he won't leave Watford so soon in to the job anyway.

I think you are being too harsh. Hull were absolute certainties to go down when he took over. He nearly did the impossible and kept them up. (Looking at where they are now, you can see the great job he did with a group of mediocre players). Watford were in a relegation fight towards the end of last season. Silva has come in and transformed them in a short space of time, spending the fraction of the money that we did. Would prefer silva to Dyche myself.

You're probably right. Would still be interested to see how he does this and next season but obviously that's longer than we can wait.

I honestly think their team looked more organised and better drilled than us and iit shown in their football. Silva did a good job at Hiull and has been in the Watford job a short time and I think he would do a good job wherever he went. Cleverly was schooling our midfield for 60 minutes which he wasn't capable of doing in a blue shirt. To be fair though Our fight back was brilliant and I was absolutely made up for our young lads who never give up. Particularly Davies who was off his game but didn't stop showing for the ball and trying and Kenny who had his hands full with Richarlson but did a fine job. The subs also deserve a mention and of course Niasse.

So were Sunderland. If Moyes is not good enough, neither is Silva.

At least Dyche has a good track record in the league

If his name was Mark Smith and he had just taken Hull down then been at Watford 10 games and done average we would all be on the swerve train.

Has a manager ever been taken from a club after 3 months?

I would definitely like to see us go for this fella. Can’t see it though.

If he’s only on a season long contract (which I think he is???), I’d sign him now for next season. Give Fat Sam a contract for this season.

Fair point but if his name was mark smith & he had been a director of football managed, sporting Lisbon won a trophy, managed oylmpicaos won a trophy, managed in the champions league won at arsenal I believe then we would certainly consider him.

I appreciate that Portugal & Greece without knowing too much about their leagues probably aren't the greatest of challenges it's not like he has only managed hull & Watford.

The hull & Watford jobs simply decrease the risk with him being a foreign manager as we already know he will settle into it.

Allardyce, dyche etc haven't & most likely
Won't ever manage in the champions league.
