To be fair, I’ve been nothing but balanced in all the posts I’ve made on here about the situation. It’s always comical when a few fans with heightened senses of grandeur pipe up. Classing yourselves as ‘sharks’ and us as ‘no marks’...I’d say this season has shown you’re drowning so far as a ‘shark’ - as much as I don’t think it will last. It’s your board so I won’t get into some senseless argument about silly comments. Good luck in your chase for Silva...beginning to think you’ll need a lot of it.

Mate, it's not a sense of grandeur - it's just simple fact that we're a bigger club than you, and we're getting your fans piping up with nonsense. Not necessarily you (before the above post which, sadly, dipped into that territory) but it happens all the time. We had the same with Saints fans over Koeman; they were convinced on the stance of "why would Koeman go to a smaller club" - no, really, they thought that.

I think you do understand that Watford are traditionally and even now a smaller club than Everton. That's all that people are saying.

As for Silva, I agree with your post a few pages ago - if he comes out and doesn't declare outright he's staying, then he's gone. Until then, we wait - but let's face it; nothing has happened whatsoever thus far that hasn't happened a thousand times before when a manager of a smaller club goes to a bigger club.

As for 'tapping up', leaking interest in a manager isn't tapping up - an illegal approach is. There's no evidence whatsoever that we've done that and I very much doubt there will be. Publicly declaring an interest through the media is done all the time - hell, it's why Sky Sports News exists.

I do understand that Everton are bigger, with a greater history and a larger fan base. I have no issue with that and I’d be stupid to state otherwise. It’s the talk of ‘sharks’ and ‘no marks’ which I found humorous! And this situation has happened many times before so maybe we will end up on the wrong side of it - ce la vie if that’s the case, I won’t be crying over it. I’d be sad to see him go but that’s the game now.

And as I’ve said, I’d be embarrassed if we went to the PL with newspaper cuttings saying he’s been tapped up. But we do have savvy owners, so IF there is any evidence of genuine misdoings, they’ll be on to it. Southampton have showed with VVD and Liverpool that the club with the greater scope doesn’t always get what they want. Not saying that will happen here, but with my knowledge of how WFC do business, it’s not as cut and dried as him being on the verge of joining as some are saying regardless of how much shade you want to throw at us or your victories against us in our shared history.

Evening Toffee, as you say its nothing personal, I consider everybody that isnt Everton as no marks, even the Everton U23s.
