If he wants the job, he will. If he doesnt, he wont.

Watford clearly aint shifting. Cant blame them for that.
Not that i have a clue, and even if he did resign, surely watford if they can would somehow apply for some type of injuction to stop him going everton etc leaving him in limbo-probably all of the top of my head that lol

One chairnan Sir john Moores told his Manager exactly what he wanted and 4th place was no good sacked in a taxi!
That's nothing to do with my original post mate but to answer the point you are now trying to make; 9 games in and he sacked an underperforming Koeman before that he sacked an underperforming Martinez. Dose of realism required mate, it takes time.
Europe was the target last season and top 6 was this season and possibly talk of silverware, had that been achieved by Koeman his next target would have been top 4 and so on, theres a plan in place but poor player recruitment and bad man management from Koeman has set us back. Overall it's going to take 10 seasons maximum to get back to the top because we've been ran like a championship club for 20 odd years with no investment and a mentality of mediocrity has been bred from the top down. People act like they expect Moshiri to come in and lash 250 million on one player otherwise he's a fraud. Anyway, Silva is the best of a bad bunch but feel he is a bit "flavour of the month" too like.

Everton need to pretty much tell him he's in the job for three plus years if he is to resign.

If they truly believe he is the right man for the next five years then do whatever it takes.
I don't believe they do though as they have offered packages to both him and Dyche.

Also something we never really thought about with Koeman mate, we thought cos he was a big name in the game, he'd by that - be able to help attract maybe a higher quality of player, when in reality - maybe it was more his reputation in player circles from ones who've worked with him that would have been more the factor than his name, lot of players in his career have seemed to not particularly enjoyed working with him, at Valencia, Saints, and dare i say here too.

Silva seems on the surface to be the type of manager players want to play for, makes a huge difference ultimately

Silva wants to get to the top too. I know Koeman does but their background are opposites. At age 40 Silva has every chance to be at a top club before he's 50 if he continues along his journey. He will be very incentivised to come here for 12-18 months and probably crack the top 4 before looking to move to an Arsenal/Athletico/Benfica/Porto sort of club.

It's not ideal for Everton, who obviously want a more long term fix. I suspect we will have to go through a couple of managers before we get that though. To some extent this was Koeman too. He left us in a state, but we have attracted a higher quality of player, it just became clear they were going backwards with him. They are not bad players though. Lets put it this way, could you see Silva getting a tune out of Sandro?

I can't see this happening in the summer. I suspect both parties will be moving outside of the others orbit at that point. There will be lots more managers available then. Potentially Tuchel, Ancelotti will be looking to make decisions on a club and if they don't get the moves they are after will probably be open to the club (especially if there is even higher levels of funding available). You are also going to have a guy like Simeone, who may revisit his options and I think leave Athletico (albeit he will get a better job). But guys like Conte and and possibly Emery are going to be bouncing around without a job if Simeone moves on. Again it's not an obvious sell but if we have money to spend I sense we'll be in the picture. A lot will depend on their other options of course.

Likewise, if Silva gets Watford into the top 8 he puts himself in the window for a variety of clubs, particularly Athletico Madrid.

The deal makes sense now. The two parties seem right for each other. Both are very ambitious and can probably see the benefit of working together for around 18 months. It sounds strange, but if we get it off the record we could get say a Tuchel, and if Silva gets a heads up from Athletico, I could even see him getting us back into the top half and moving on in the summer. I'm not sure it makes much anything like as much sense in the summer, and I can't imagine him coming then. A lot of circumstances would have to fit together again. Because of that I think it has a decent chance of happening.

theyre saying it was 10 million on monday for the first approach and there hasnt been an improved sum something is fishy
How can the compensation package be that high? He has under 2 years on his contract left, I highly doubt he is on 5m a year. I thought compensation related to wages and years left on your contract. Obviously not, it seems.
