I can't see how that is possible mate. The only thing that they could do was try to prove that they had to sack him because we made an illegal approach for him, and everybody knows we went through the right channels. FFS there was a daily update in the newspapers, mainly from their side. There is a procedure to follow which we did, and the compensation we offered was about 10 times what they were entitled to given there was a break clause after 1 year. They'd get laughed out of court and they know it.

The way I understand it is they owe Silva's salary since he was sacked. That has nothing to do with Everton, it's between Silva and Watford.

Makes absolutely no sense. They terminated his contract, that's the end of it. It's like McDonald's suing Burger King because an ex-employee of theirs saw an ad for BK in a paper once before they were sacked.
