Wouldn't go as far as to say "disgusting", If we had got him when we originally went in for him there would not have been much dissent amongst fans.

People didn't want to give Martinez a chance, look what he did in his first season, won us the clubs historical 72 point trophy.

Whilst I am not overjoyed, he has decent pedigree. we can't cherry pick on his management career, either judge it as a whole or not at all. He hasn't just managed Hull and Watford.

Yeah but we were looking like a serious relegation bound team then, were not now, disgusting lack of ambition from Moshiri, its like he hasnt even thought about it since then and is looking no higher the mid table mediocrity at best for next season.

They will back him once he is here, because they have no choice, but that dosent mean going for Silva isn't a wasted opporunity.
It will be a pathetic move from Moshiri, it will be him that questions now need asking about.

Perhaps we are or have tried to attract better but cannot - Any manager is a risk. I hope and look forward to seeing a bit of organisation and attacking play and a plan on and off the pitch after tonights news. A bit of positivity from people would really not go amiss.

christ mate lol

the other way to view it perhaps if he does go for Silva, is that he 100% believes he can improve us and has a solid plan on how he is going to do it.

Let's not be reaching for the bleach cocktails just yet.

We cant of done, we seen what happened last time we tried to do that mid season, no chance we have spoke to anyone, mainly because all the decent managers are in work right now, but once the season is over its a different ball game and plenty are free.

Should have gone all out for Emery. Thing that worries me about Silva is how quickly it unravelled at Watford. No doubt we unsettled him, but not sure top manager would have let is spiral out of control so spectacularly.
Bingo. Allardyce and the players knew he was on extremely dodgy ground but still held things together results wise. No excuses for Silva.

I think they are both risks, I think Arteta would be less of a flight risk. He may be more inclined to see Everton as a project. Always seemed like a truly nice and genuine guy as well

Not sure it did, they hit a bad patch over Christmas and New Year which many clubs do.

I'm not too clued in on the futballs but didn't watford sack this person? Hiring relegated managers and one that kept Southampton upper midtable.... and BFS. About to get a watford reject.

I don't understand why we haven't won the lot.

I liked what Silva did at Hull. Very nearly keeping up one of the worst squads in Premier League history was impressive, as was the feat of guiding Hull to victory over Man Utd in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final. And as others have mentioned he did well to guide Sporting to their first major trophy in seven years.

However, for me it's his record at Olympiacos that's most impressive. Under his stewardship they won their first SEVENTEEN domestic matches of the 2015/16 season, eventually winning the Greek title (Superleague Greece) with ease. They also trounced Arsenal in the Champions League.

Cracking young manager.

He was never going to succeed at Watford. They're a small club with no money.
